My little kitten is about 7-8 weeks old and i haven't noticed any black stuff or anything strange about his ears other then when he scratches them he meows. I've looked inside of them but i really haven't seen a thing. Is it normal or should i just take him to a vet and see if there is something else that might be causing him to meow when he scratches his ears?

He has to take it once every 24 hours, and they are having me give him 21/2 mg each time. The paper I read on-line says to give 10 mg per kg once daily. I don't know if what kg means. It has something to do with weight, I do know he weighs 9 lbs or so. Can someone tell me if that would be correct to give (21/2 mg each 24 hours or not. I don't trust the vet that is filling in for my usual vet. Please help if you know what these measurements mean, relating to his weight. Thanks so much

most of the time we just see scratches on his ears and scabs on his need. but they are small and no big deal.

this weekend though i found him and on the side of his neck he has hair loss (about as large as putting your index and thumb together) and hole (quite smaller). the hole went deeper than normal. but all i could see was blood and it was swollen. then the next day it was bursted, and gooey, and wet, you know? so we think its healing. and we put some medicine on it. he continues to scratch at it. so i am thinking that might be because a scab is forming, which is good.

are there anyways for me to tell if its infected? do you think what we did was good enough?

Please help. My brother's male cat will be put down this weekend, as two veterinarians have failed to diagnose what is wrong. We have tested for FIV, mites, parasites and food allergies and have placed the cat on steroids with very little response.

The symptoms are: Scabbing and bleeding around the eyes, ears, chin and crotch, weakness and fatigue. Eating habit is normal, but he is continually losing weight. He's tried switching foods and even locations, all with the same result.

All information on this is greatly appreciated.

I really like our cat but the apartments want 375 USD for us to keep it. What should you think I should do? I’m thinking of keeping it at a neighbor for like 2 weeks and tell the apartment we got rid of it and get it back after 2 weeks after things have cooled.

My Bach is about 13 years old, recently he lost one of his top canine teeth and i was worried about infection. So i took him to the drs and they ran a blood test and he came back good, as well as the recommended for him to have a dental cleaning with possible teeth removal, as they did they removed 3 teeth. It has been over a week. He isn't eating or drinking. He came from the potty and he has diarrhea and blood in his poop, which was more like mucus rather than poop. I took him back to see the dr and they gave him a steroid shot with vitamin k which she said should help with his appetite, as well as more antibiotics (it smells like tuna...ugg) and he refuses to have anything to do with anything as far as food. I have resorted to using the recommended hills a/d formula watered down and syringed into his mouth, but he hates it. I love my kitty so much can someone please help me. I feel like had i not taken him into the dr in the first place he would still be loving cuddling kitty.

I am moving to a new neighborhood, and have an outside cat. Is it better to try to get her to stay inside? I'm afraid that she will get lost or hurt in an unfamiliar place.

I am looking for a natural cure for a kitten (about 4 weeks old) that has worms.

Don't say take it to the vet...This is about a NATURAL cure.

I am not opposed to essential oils or herbs or good old fashioned home remedies. Let me know what has worked for you...

Thanks!

and he is the first pet ive ever had. but he is suffering. hes skin and bones now. about two months ago, he stopped going in the littler box, and now he cries when he has to go to the bathroom, and hell go wherever he feels like it. and its always diareah. the vet gave us some powder to mix with his food, but he wont eat it. and i feel horrible. i want him to be around because i dont want to accept reality. I am very scared to take her to the vet cuz deep down I'm pretty sure he'll probably agree. i would rather have him just pass away in our house on his own. if i had something injected in him to kill him i would feel horrible. i think he stays around because he knows well be very upset without him. and i dont think id ever be able to get another cat, in fear of him thinking i was replacing him.

I would need to keep the litter box in my small bedroom room! So even cleaning it out multiple times a day would not be enough.

I have a darling cat I adopted 2 weeks ago from a shelter that I adore. He's almost perfect. He is fat (on a diet now), affectionate, always purring, follows me around like a puppy and he loves the attention I lavish on him (I'm single and live in a 1 BR apartment).

Here's the issue: Fluffy is banned from my bedroom so that I have at least one hair-free room in my house and so I don't have him sleeping on my head or that I kick him at night.

So Fluffy sits outside my door and meows with a distinctly sad and whiny tone. I am a teacher and have to get up at 5 each morning. Sleep is so precious to me, but Fluffly isn't letting me get any.

What can I do to get him to shut up at night? I can't sleep in ear plugs (they have caused me to miss my alarm), my apt. complex only allows one pet, and I don't want to let the cat in, nor do I want to take my sleepless frustration out on him. How can I get my needy, clingy cat to shut the hell up at night? Thanks!!

She has stopped vomiting, but now she is slinking around the house and seems paranoid. She is usually an affectionate cat and loves being held, but now she won't let me near her and seems to be afraid of me. She isn't hissing.

She usually vomits every 6 weeks or so. I'm not sure why.

She is a Cornish Rex, if that helps.

I'm going into 8th grade, so I can't drive. My dad doesn't get home until 7:15 and my mom doesn't get home until 8:30

What do you think she has? My dad is taking her to the vet later

I have a sick feral cat in my backyard--he's about 5-6 months old--he's become injured in his mouth and is not able to eat. Animal control tried to catch him--with no luck--and I can't get close enough to him to even pet him. He lives inder my shed--but comes out everyday crying and looking at me --i wish desperately I could help him--he's starving to death--can anyone tell me when it comes his time will he go off in the woods and die or will it be under my shed where he's lived? Thx.
