Oh, no. Don't. Exotic animals are NOT pets. Unless you live on a sanctuary, don't even think about it.

Check out the websites, Savannah average 16 - 20 lbs. This is not that uncommon. I have 4 mixed breed right now that are between 16 - 20 lbs. The biggest is all black and looks like a miniature panther. He's that big, not fat. I've run across quite a few mixed breed that are this big. Check your local shelter.

you would have to check with your State's department of natural resources to see what is legal, and what is not.

i wouldn't recommend a wild animal as a pet, however. wild animals are still, by nature, not domesticated and could possibly be dangerous.

there is a breed of cat called Maine Coon... the males are known to get to weights over 20 pounds, which is a very big cat.

Maine Coons are docile by nature and doglike compared to most cats. The price tag is hefty, but they are wondeful animals.

You can find breeders in your area by doing a search for MAIN COON BREEDERS, INSERT YOUR CITY AND STATE.

good luck in whatever you decide.

Well, big cats are EXPENSIVE as hell and some states require special licenses for owning one.

The best big cat, in my opinion, is a Cheetah. Usually is very easy to "domesticate" (note the quotes)

As for tigers, pumas and lions.....you will need special training to handle.

Why not settle for a small wildcat or even a bengal cat?

Maine Coon males get to be 25 lbs. Pixie bobs are cool looking. Go to petfinder and you can look at pictures of large or exlarge cats.

Maybe you can do some volunteer work at a local shelter. They need people to help give attention to the animals and you could hug them till your heart's content.

Your question should be directed to a breeder of Savannas, they're required to know the state laws for their animals.
