It has an awful smell. And I don't like the surprises I find when i go to plant something.

Anything I can put in the garden?

First I would raise hell with my neighbor, I don't know why people think that because it's a cat rather than a dog they can let it run on other peoples property. I would dig up these little surprises and deliver them to your neighbors porch. Mind you I'm a cat owner, I have 17 and keep them at home. To stop the problem I would try mixing some hot sauce and water and pour it around the outside of your garden, it might stop him but you will have to redo it a couple times a week. Or use cayenne pepper and sprinkle it around the edge of the garden.

I was absolutely appalled at some of the violent recommendations by too many answerers of this question. I want you to know that I personally NUKED all the subhuman boneheads who recommended anything other than making the garden an unpleasant place for a cat to visit...and I loved every minute of it, ARHH ARRHHH ARRRRHHHHH!!!

A cat is a harmless animal who doesn't know any better, and there are plenty of NON-VIOLENT ways to get them to do something. Contrary to popular belief, cats are capable of learning and problem-solving and can permanently learn a new behavior the first time, without resorting to violence.

I agree with the moth balls and the cayenne pepper...another thing cats hate is anything that smells of citrus. Especially lemons. I use lemon furniture polish to keep them from clawing my furniture, it really works!!!

fence off the garden. if the cat jumps over it. then take it up with your neighbor. if that doesnt work, then sue for gardening expenses ( a lawsuit would only be a good alternative if your cat has been doing it long enough to cost alot of money for dirt, topsoil and seeds over the course of the time the neibors cats been doin that.) or if a lawsuit is more of a loss than a gain, and your neibors cat keeps doing its buisness in the garden and the neighbor isnt doing anything about it. call the police. if you call 911 make sure to tell them its a non emergency call

Wow! I can't believe all of the sadistic people on here. I hope that you will disregard them....I will now attempt to offer you some real advice...

I would suggest Euclalptus leaves scattered around. I've also read coffee grounds works as well. However, I found some useful weblinks that have some other excellent humane ideas...

If you actually saw the cat and know whose it is, go tell your neighbor to come clean up his cat's poo.

You can get a motion activated sprinkler that will come on when anything (including you, the offending cat, a dog) goes by. That will work great for a cat. They're also used to deter deer.

Go tell your neighbors. They will help! Or you can buy this cat spray that your spray all around your garden and the smell will make that cat leave. It wont do anything to you.

I know that pet stores sell spray for inside the house that you spray that keeps cats from going on the carpet...i dont know if that would work for outside. I might try going to the pet store and talking to someone there and they might have an idea, im sure your not the first one to have this problem.

try sprinkiling cayenne pepper all around the garden so if the cat walks in it gets on its paws and eventually it will learn to avoid that area....just a thought i know it works for keeping a cat of the kitchen counter

call the s.p.c.a. in your area and have them pick the cat up as it is a stray if the owner is not leashing it and preventing it from leaving there yard. The s.p.c.a. will give the little bastard 3-5 days to be adopted and then they will put it to sleep.Chancs are it' going in the oven at the spca so your worries are over.
