i cant understand it, i have 2 cats andlove them to bits. i think people are being overprotective of their cats! they need to have their freedom, the reasons people give for not letting their cats out are rubbish, like diseases, getting knocked down and so on. its a risk! but its a risk worth taking! cats in fact are much more healthier outdoors and MUCH happier! its bordering cruelty keeping them inside. its such a shame many cats dont have their freedom, theres no excuse for it. our cats couldnt be happier, i had one before them and he lived to about 18, and im glad he experienced the outdoors. being 19, i have lived with cats almost all my life and know all about them. anyone that really cares about their cat will take the small risk of letting their cat out (they WILL come back).

I have a himilayian and he is about 1 year old and he just started to pee in the tub about a week and a half ago. I took hiim to the vet and he has a UTI so I have been giving him the meds for that but he just pooped in the shower. I am starting to get a little upset and I don't know what else to try. We keep his box in the bathroom for him and his brother and he is peeing in the bathroom only on the floor or in the tub. We clean the box often, every other day to everyday. He is on clavamox for 14 days I know it's only been like 5 days but it shouldn't have progressed to pooping outside the box. right? I haven't changed the litter either. Is there anyone out there who can help?

He is an outdoor cat, and he is buddy with the dog. They both stay outside. I am moving now and want to take the dog along, and am not sure how to handle the cat. They say cats are territorial, if I take him with me, will he try to come back to his familiar environment? or will he stick around in the new place because his buddy the dog is there? Am not sure what to do!!
I dont want to leave him behind, but i dont want him to get killed trying to find his way back home !! Plus could he survive if he stayed here, after being separated from the dog ??

My girlfriend just gave my partner and I two kittens and she swears one is female and the other male but I think both are female because they both have eight nipples on the chest. I'm not a kittie expert and would like to know how I can tell a male from a female kitten? Thanks for your help!

My girl Shadow has a chronic runny eye. It is not goopy or infected. The vet said it was ok as long as it stays clear (it has) I have to wipe it everyday and it will dry on her eyes and form a build up. She is a-ok otherwise.
What do you all think?

One of my 3 cats is about 14 years old and today we found her lying on our tile with a pile of bloody poo next to her. A few moments ago we discovered that she was bleeding from her anus. We are worried that her artificial rectum has a tear in it (When she was a kitten her rectum was missing so she couldn't go poo. She had to have a bowel reconstruction or something like that.) Anyways, she's always struggled to go to the bathroom but has never bled. We have attemped to move her to put her into a cat-carrier to take her to the vets but she starts meowing in pain. Should we take her to the vets anyways or should we let nature take its course... Any sugesstions on how to make last little bit of her life as comfortable as possible? Oh and she's still drinking. We haven't tried food yet though. Thanks for any answers.

I have a six year old cat who was spayed three years ago. She still goes through heat cycles, but my vet has never seemed to overly concerned about it. Today, though, I have been finding spots of blood where she normally naps. Is this normal or should I take her in?

My cat drinks alot of water. I mean she'll be at the water container for about 3 minutes. While our other cat comes and drinks only a little. My cat is also pooping a lot and eating alot. Today she puked 3 times while she ran crying like she was in pain. She has a tendency to puke in her food dish.

I adopted this cat four days ago, my dad said it was my neighbors and they left her behind when they moved,so I took her in, bought her food a litter box, the works. But that guy didn't take good car of this cat...her hair, its tangled! its in huge clumps, they look like handles that you can pull on. I'm worrying because i've never seen this on a cat, my dad says that she might be sick and i think he's right. Though she eats, drinks and goes to the bathroom normally, and has a healthy weight, I really want to take her to a vet and see if she is healthy but i don't know if its a vet I should be taking her too or a groomers, help me out please! I don't think she's in pain but she hates the clumps on her fur they seem to be falling off, but I want to be a good cat owner and be responsible unlike the other guy.

I recently took my cat to the vet after she was acting strange. He took blood samples and found she was poison by a flea powder that contain pyrethrin. He recommended we force feed her to help her out. Anything else that will speed up the process of getting rid of the poison in her system.

He is liter trained and i dont want it to get infected. he was pulling at his claws the past 2 nights and i found blood this morning, when i looked i saw he had puled the nail all the way off. i see a little tip in there still but it smells very bad so i used peroxide to clean it and put neosporin and wrapped it all up like a cast, but it still smells. how can i treat him?

It was absolutely gorgeous! Blue eyes. I looked on the web and a meerkat is mongoose family but this was a cat, a house cat. And it did have the traits of the mongoose where it stood up straight on its hind legs. It had beautiful markings. Anyone else have one or seen one? I'd like to know more about them. When I look up meerkat it only comes up with the mongoose family animal.

Theories of cat behaviour

LAW OF CAT INERTIA
A cat at rest will tend to remain at rest, unless acted upon
by some outside force, such as the opening of cat food, or a
nearby scurrying mouse.

LAW OF CAT MOTION
A cat will move in a straight line, unless there is a really good
reason to change direction.

FIRST LAW OF CAT ENERGY CONSERVATION
Cats know that energy can neither be created nor destroyed and will,
therefore, use as little energy as possible.

LAW OF BAG/BOX OCCUPANCY
All bags and boxes in a given room must contain a cat within the
earliest possible nanosecond.

LAW OF FURNITURE REPLACEMENT
A cat's desire to scratch furniture is directly proportional to the
cost of the furniture.

LAW OF CAT COMPOSITION
A cat is composed of Matter + Anti-matter + It Doesn't Matter.

LAW OF CAT OBEDIENCE
As yet undiscovered.
