they might wander.....they're gonna be curious of a new world, something they're not used to. They are also really good at hiding if u didnt know that already and they can find something that will make them follow it. Just watch them carefully b/c they are babies, if they wander off, they can get lost

when my kittens get to 12 weeks i put a flea collar on and a pet tag with there name and my mobile number,so if it does stray you should get a phone call. having said that i have never had a cat not come home and i have had a few cats in my time. also the fact that you have 2 is good let them out together and the chances are they will chase each other round for a while which means if 1 returns so will the other.introduce them outside gradually.GOOD LUCK

How old are the kittens? They should be neutered (and therefore older than 5 months of age), have had there stitches out if applicable and of course be fleaed, wormed and vaccinated. If all this is done and they've been living with you for at least a couple of months, they should know where their home is and come back at least to be fed! Start by just letting them out in the garden under your supervision for short amounts of time, and gradually increase the amount of time. If they don't want to go out don't force them of course, let them do it in their own time. Leave the door open at first so they can run back in whenever they want.

Cats and kittens should never be let outside to roam. They can easily get past most any typical fencing system, and are easy prey for being hit by cars, eaten by dogs, or tortured by bad people. If you love your kittens, you should invest in a good safe CAT FENCE. Regular dog fences will not contain a cat. I've included links to a few good resources below. I would also like to point out that all kittens should be left with their momma until they are close to 10 weeks old, to develop required feline behavior and life skills from their mother. They should also be allowed to come inside when they wish, and should not be left outside without shelter.

this may well be slightly a predicament for easily everybody that permit our cats outdoors. while we permit our cat out we settle for the incontrovertible fact that she will possibly no longer return. She has already been the sufferer of a fox attack as quickly as requiring a three week stay indoors. yet she is lower back out now. that's the uncommon cat that can not discover that is way homestead as long as that house is a loving/worrying one. Cats are no longer that stupid. They comprehend the place the food is stored and the place their 'secure spot' is. Our cat ran off like a bullet while we first permit her out at 8 months previous. maximum do; yet they continuously come back. She would not run off to any extent further except we permit the canines out on the comparable time. She purely scoots out decrease than the fence the place the canines can not persist with.

I would go outside with them for an hour or so then bring them back in. Do that for a couple of weeks and then let them out on their own. I'm no expert but I ahve an indoor cat, this just seems logical to me. I wouldnt worry about them getting lost if you do that because cats seem to get lost rarely.
Or buy a tracking device lolol

I have 2 sister cats and when I started to let them out I let them out for short times and I always accompanied them until I could be sure they were okay.
Also make sure that they have had ALL their vaccination before you let them out. This means their 2nd injection as well as their first.
Bear in mind where you live too. If you live in a built up area you have to aware of other cats and their territory so you need to stay with them for the first week of outings. Also get a cat-flap which is one way or linked to the cats electronically or you will get toms spraying all over your house, especially if they are female.

In my experience they just stick close to you whilst they explore....make sure u let them out when and where its quieter...because a sudden loud noise might make them bolt. Ideally leave the door open and let them wander out themselves but with you beside as they will know where the door is and will need to keep check on it for security. Iv never had a kitten that wandered in its first few explorations but i have never let them out alone at these times.

Take them out for a bit each day and watch them if that is possible. Chances are if they are really small they won't go far or get stuck anywhere. You have to trust there instict eventually though.
Consider putting food on the back step so they have areason to come back if your really worried, or feed them outside a few times to get them used to it.

No they will not get lost. They know where they live at as well as you do. Besides when they get hungry they will always come back. Just be sure to let them get use to the area and the garden around the house etc.
