I adopted a 2 months old kitten about 2 weeks ago, and hopefully he can be my 3 years old big cat's friend. I used the "door trick" and seprated them in the first week, then i started putting them in one room to see each other few hours a day.
My big cat is peaceful and gentle, so he wouldn't attack the new kitten. He only hisses when the kitten gets too close to him, but then the new kitten is getting very mean. That new kitten always tries to ambush big cat and chases big cat all over my apartment. Big cat does try to fight back some, but he really isn't so good at it. The new kitten just beats the big cat almost every time.
Although so far they two haven't used claws and tooth on each other too much(mostly just chasing), I am so worried my big cat would live unhappily with new kitten. I neither want to send the kitten away or have my big cat to be unhappy. If you know how to deal with this mean kitten, please help me!!

Don't ask how I did it but, when I did do it she I guess she clawed me and I quickly let my foot back up and she went into the other room. I kept telling her I was sorry and was playing with her. She is also a mother. I haven't notice her doing anything weird. So you think she'll be fine?

My kitten is about 10 weeks old. She is completely litter box trained and always uses it. There's one exception though... she keeps peeing on my bed. My bedroom is the first place she was introduced to when we took her home and she usually sleeps on my bed on next to it. She is able to easily get off the bed and go to the litter box which is located in the corner of my room. But she continues to make the decision to pee on my bed instead. I'm wondering if it is just a coincidence that every accident she has had has been in the same place or if I have done something to make her think it is okay. I'm not upset with her peeing on my bed (because I know most kittens have accidents) so much as I am worried that she'll make it a habit that will be hard to break in the future. What should I do? Or will she grow out of this? thanks for any info you can give me!

I took my cat to the vet and she had a blather infection. They gave me liquid meds (pain killers) in a kind of eye drop to give here every night. That part I'm not worried about. Along with the pain killers they gave me antibiotics. They're small pills that I have to split in half and give her orally. She wont touch wet food so that method isn't an option. Does anyone have any ideas?

I was getting ready and my dad came home (which is unusual) and he brought me 3 kittens and told me to see if they would drink but they wont. They are VERY small. I dont no how old they are. What should I do? I am only 14. Should I give them some milk until my parents can get the special kitten milk?

Poor little thing, I suspect he gets bored in our small place w/no garden. We bought a scratch post and some balls that he likes to play with, but I'm afraid he'll get bored and dumb down somehow. How can I intellectually stimulate my cat?

I don't know if he's eatting or going to the bathroom because I work all day long and I never really notice. I have another cat so I don't know if the one is using the litter box as well.
What's wrong with my cat??? When I touch him he doesn't jump or react like his stomach is in pain but I do notice all he does is lay around and no longer purrs.
Don't tell me he's just being fat because the truth is, he isn't! I know he's sick but I'm wondering if anyone out there knows with what? Or what I should do?

Hi. I have 3 cats (from the same litter), and they're just now 4 years old. I've found it necessary to clip their claws due to carpeting, walls, etc., and after attempting to do it, I realized just how difficult it can be. I tried while they were sleepy, but I think it only made them leap into their full senses. One of them growls, another is simply terrified, and the other, well, I don't remember if I even tried to clip her claws. I'm not going to declaw them... I found out that declawing them damages nerves in their paws...

Does anyone have any advice on how I should go about doing this? I wish I'd started clipping their claws when they were kittens, but since it's too late for that...
Any suggestions?

I have a friend who has fallen on hard times. Things are tight and she's looking for work right now. She has one pet, a cat, and getting food is getting harder. She really doesn't want to give up her cat as she is sure this is just temporary. Are there pet food pantries like they have for people? That may be able to help her out during this rough time for her?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

We picked up this kitty in the middle of our town. He was emaciated so we took him to the vet asap. He had a clean bill of health other than an absess on his neck (healed), an awful smell, an ear infection, and severe malnourishment. He's on antibiotics and kitten food supplemented with wet food. For the past week and a half he has slowly but surely begun to improve and look more lively. Today he ate all his wet food, some dry food and drank all his water! However, he is still all skin and bones. Is there anything else I can do to ensure his speedy recovery?

Anyone let your cats try the Addiction brand "Venison&Avocado" flavor? I'm thinking of adding it to my cat's diet for variety. But not sure if it's good.

I got my cat when she was about 8 months old and I have had her for about 5 years. Back then I was 11 years old. All these five years the cat has been acting very much different from my neighbors cat. My neighbors cat seems to love everyone and come to everyone and sit by them and purr and whatnot. The most my cat does is come by people and rub against them. The only time she purrs is during her habit of licking the bed sheets (which probably remind her of her mother). If I or anyone in my family pick her up, it seems that she tolerates it for a couple of seconds and then struggles to get free. So is it normal that my cat doesn't like to be held by humans nor ever comes and hops into my lap or other peoples laps? Is there something I can do about it? The joke that runs in the family is that the people we bought her from (some kind of adoption fee) probably found her on the streets as she seems as wild as the feral cats. She is a short hair brown tabby.

There are two stray cats that come around periodically. They are both clean looking and are maybe even outdoor cats someone owns. I am not sure. With the weather being nice, I have my windows open. I haven't seen either cat in awhile, but this evening when I walked into my bedroom, the stray cat was sitting on the windowsill on the outside of my bedroom window, meowing and "talking" to my cat who was sitting on the inside windowsill. Only a screen seperated the two cats. I thought it was really cute, but I shut the window right away because I was worried my cat could catch a disease. Is this true? I heard Feline Leukemia is airborn. Now I am paranoid about leaving the windows open, for fear they may get sick. Is this a valid concern or am I being overly paranoid? My cat is behind on his vaccines, but only because she has some behaviorial problems that we are working on in order to take her in. She should be good to go to the vet this Fall. Any feedback?

My cat won't eat or drink, his temperature is low and he is dehydrated, he also has ulcers on his tongue. Any ideas?
Does anyone know what could cause this? I took him to the emergency vet today and they wanted $459 to run blood work and told me it would cost me about $1,000 for everything. I can't afford that! If someone could tell me what this might be this would be great instead of just putting him to sleep without knowing!

Just some cute female names for a cat, preferably black, grey or tabby. Generally for an 8 year old girl.
