I suggest placing her in another room when people come over. Obviously, don't leave her "locked up" anywhere for extended periods of time.

She may just be a very territorial or scared cat.

She's not psycho, she's afraid. The hissing and spitting is because she's overstressed and doesn't know what to do other than protect herself.

If she is being teased or bothered by visitors, put her in a quiet room and leave her there, she's NOT enjoying the company you have over and feels enough fear to try to defend herself. It's not 'cute or funny', she's very much afraid and it doesn't make sense to have other people making it worse for her.

Sounds like she's either scared or defending her turf. She may smell other cats on them. You should put her in a room alone with her cat box when you know you're having company.

Your cat is antisocial and has anxiety attacks when people are over.
keep her in a quiet, cool place when company comes over, and offer her a hiding spot she can feel safe in, until she becomes comfortable with your company.
ask your company to be calm, and don't yell or run (children esp.), so that she can adjust to their company.

as she gets older, this usually gets better, as she matures.

good luck
