Just minutes ago my cat peed on our down sleeping bags. Is there any way to get the stink out? Will it ever go away?

man that really stinks.........the smell is offensive,,,,,,,i suggest rinsing it out before it dries, then wash the offended area with soapy water....and let it dry out..........Bad Kitty....... hopefully it will go away....there are alos enzyme neutralizers that are sold at most pet stores.....good luck....now go clean the kitty box, so your sweet little feline has somewhere to go :-)

You need to wash the bags--either in the washer if your bag tag says that's ok, or with dry cleaning. The sooner you do this the better, the smell will come out easier.

If the bag has fiberfill for the stuffing, just open the bag all the way up and put it in the washer and use the warm cycle. If it really is 'down' it may need to be dry cleaned, which you can take in tomorrow as they'll all be open Monday.

I have heard that the best way is wash it in cold water before it dries if you can. Using a lot of chemicals that are smelly further irritates the cat. My husband and I use Woolite Oxydeep on our stains and it works miracles. Another good product is the Stink Free line found at petstores.

Are your cats male? I know my male cat gets territorial. He's been neutered, but if he smells another cat around our front or back doors he urinates there. Aside from that it could be stress. You should read the following article. It's quite informative.

Haul you blanket and some tennis balls down to the local Laundromat. Wash it, then put it in a dryer with the tennis balls.
