Several possibilities:
- Tumour, either benign: fatty lump for example
or malignant: mammary cancer for example
Note that both type could be cystic
- Granuloma around a foreign body like a grass seed
- Abscess from a fight
- Hernia
- Hematoma
I recommend you get this checked out by your local vet. They may be able to make a diagnosis by palpating the lump or may need to get a biopsy out of it.
Good luck

Is it soft or hard? If it's hard,it could be a tumor or a hernia, which would call for surgery. On the other hand,it could be her fat pad. Most cats have them, especially older, spayed or neutered cats. It wouldn't hurt to have the vet check it out if it's worrying you.

I would take her to the vet, she is more than likely in some pain, possible hernia, but let them check her over.
