and then got run over again or maybe it all happened at the same time.
How long does rigor mortis last? His legs, tail and head are all stiff but the body is still soft. So is rigor mortis just setting in or leaving? Also, memorial service and burial is in 2 days so I have him in a freezer. Do I put him in dry ice till then? I suppose I have to thaw him to get him in a comfortable position in the casket?
Thanks for any info or knowledge.

My neighbors found it on their porch and you could tell that it was once owned cause he is so lovable and he he is fixed and everything. We took him in and he won't go in the litter box and he messed up the curtains. He won't walk through dark places at night. And he meows all night unless out Great Dane is in there with him. This is our first time to have a cat and we need help!!!! And you know some body dumped him, cause cats don't run away and everyone knows that. And if they do run away then they always come back for food. HELP!!!!

my 3 year old siamese cat has recently found an interest in water. when im in the shower, he gets on the ledge of the tub and puts his paws in the stream. when i get out of the shower, he licks my legs.i have come home to the kitchen sink being left on, and as it turns out, he is pushing up on the facet!
he has plenty of water to drink, although i catch him drinking from the toilet a lot.
btw, i had him vet checked with bloodwork and all, and he is healthy.

I‘ve had her for one year now and she still doesn't like me very much. She can't sleep near me and she grows and hisses when i put her on my lap. She doesn't want to eat any of the food i give her, unless shake it first! She drinks water from the toilet (even though i put a bowl of clean water 4 her to drink every morning) and she is obsessed with hunting. she catches mice and birds(sometimes even rabbits) every day. She extremely skinny and doesn't like the food i give. What can i do?

It is like she is going back to being a kitten herself. She's making growling noises, begging for food when we are eating, waiting for the children to drop food when at dinner table. She is also eating the kitten food, drinks their milk and she turns her nose up at her own food. Her stomach has also been a bit off. Is this because she is eating kitten food or something else? Sometimes when we walk past her she tends to hiss especially when food is dropped on the floor. What should we do? Thanks for any advice.

My cat who is 18 years old has been living with my mother at her house since I got married almost 9 years ago. She and her brother had never been apart since birth and my new husband had several pets including 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 iguana, 1 tortoise, several frogs etc. Anyway, I felt that it would be better for all concerned to leave my 2 cats with my parents and familiar surroundings. My mom and dad took great care of them and loved them very much. The male cat (her brother) passed away last year and she went through a very tough time without him but soon got back to her old self. My father passed away this year in January and my mom has come to live with us at our home. We are getting their house ready for sale and have yet to bring my sweet kitty over to our home. Does anyone have any knowledge or experiences they might want to share on how we can make this as painless as possible for my 18 year old kitty? We don't have the dogs anymore but do still have the 2 cats at our home.

My cat weighs 18 pounds, is 13 year old, a house cat, neutered, eats hill science(light) dry food, drinks lots of water because he eats dry food. He has problems with uninary tract. He eats 40 grams of food twice a day. We have tried to reduce this amount but he drives us up the wall. He is a big cat. We play with him, chase him around the house but he does not lose any weight. Are there any other suggestions as to how we can help him?

I arrived home from work at 2am with nobody awake, and my cat's food and drink bowls have been emptied and put on the counter without a note.

She is being put in her carrier in 45 minutes, with an hour drive. She is getting all the basic shots, and spayed. Should I give her some food and water before she goes, or do cats fast too like humans?

Because I always play with her, and i be a little to rough with her sometimes but thats because i could not resist her. The reason i'm asking this is because she always bites me when I put my hand out to her. Is this just simple kitten playing or does she just hate me?

My 2 yr old male cat has been licking off his fur...mostly on his legs and hind end, but also scratching a lot, and has little "bald" spots on his little body. He does not have fleas. Has taken Advantage religiously since he was young. He is otherwise healthy, has all his shots and regular vet visits. I.m realizing I should prob. take him to the vet, and he may have a skin condition. Any ideas of what this skin condition could be?

My Cat recently acquired an open wound on her back, we figure it was from her crawling under small places and scratching her back on them. She does not go outside, and we have a very clean indoor environment. The other day we found she had scratched it open with her back claws and it was bleeding again. To try to help it heal, we put a small amount of Antibiotic ointment on the wound, thinking it was out of her reach.
Later was saw her licking it off, and tried to stop her before she got it all. We're not sure if she got it all off, because she ran away from us before we caught her to check on it.
Is the ointment dangerous to them? Even though it wasn't that much?
She's been acting unusually lazy today, she's only 6 years old, sleeping alot, and not eating as much as she usually does...could she be sick?!
I'm looking for serious answers, I'm very worried about her, she's like my baby..
Thank you!

I LOVE cats so i play with them a lot. And my family says each time i interact with a cat i either make it mad or change the way it is. so they believe that i made my cat the devil. But all i want is to pet him without him hissing or biting me. I need advise on how to calm him or be able to pet him.

So it's the weekend and of course something happens when I can't contact my vet with questions so I thought, a lot of people here have had their cats spayed, I could use some advice...

Just got my 11 month old cat spayed last wed. Everything went well, she ate and drank and wanted to play (which I didn't encourage). Was aggressive for a day or so but that went away...

The incision site looks clean and she stopped chewing on the stitches after the first day (I wasn't given a cone right away which was too bad). She does lick it sporadically but not too much.

But nothing goes without a hitch. The incision site does look swollen. It's not red, it's pink (maybe moreso than rest of her belly) and no oozing from the incision. Sizewise the swelling spreads about half an inch around the incision and is oval shaped. A little bigger on one side. It's firm to the touch and it doesn't seem to be tender, as she let me check it.

I was wondering how much swelling was normal? I'm worried.

Thanks!

A typical example: My cat will jump on the sofa, make itself comfortable next to you and sleep. At the slightest movement she'll jump and attack a limb, dig in deep and sometimes draw blood.

She's also known to attack when we're least expecting it, which now makes us nervous around her. Does she want to play? Each time she attacks we yell and shake her away, but doesn't seem to be helping.

Anyone have any successful suggestions?
