Hi,
There are some really cheap motion sensitive sprinklers you can turn on when you are away. Just google "cat motion sprinklers" and a whole bunch of options will pop up.
These work really great, especially at night. Basically any animal that enters your garden will trigger the sprinkler to turn on for about 10 seconds, or whatever options you set it at.
Hope this helps. No need to turn your neighbor's cat into animal control , which is against the law, btw.

Research the animal control laws in your community. Find out if dogs must be either walked on a leash or kept in the owner's yard. Most areas will require some form of owner responsibility or the dog will be considered at-large and can be impounded. With that information, talk to your neighbor and ask her to please contain her dog to her property and cite the law to her and tell her someone else's dog in the area was impounded because the dog was running loose, (small fib) but it might work. If not, call animal control and report the owner.

Call the animal control and ask them to put out a trap. Then your neighbor can start picking up the cat at the animal shelter. Don't you just really dislike ignorant neighbors. My neighbors dog never stops barking. All night long and all day. You can also buy your own traps. Try to pour lysol or something like lemon juice all over they don't like the smell. Don't shoot it you may end up in jail. LOL !

I agree with the answer about cats using the same area. I've had cats in the past and they definitely cover their poop. They are generally a laid - back type of animal. If you just don't like the idea that it is going in the yard, then maybe you should call the animal control.

If it's annoying you, and you've already talked to the owners, then next time the cat is out call your local Animal Control. Most places have leash laws for cats too. The Animal Control will pick up the cat, charge the owner a small fee, and give them a warning to not let it happen again.
That's all I know that you can do.

Yep. Animal Control works, especially if they (for instance) let there cat out around the same time every day. And by all means, CALL THEM DAILY until the cat gets picked up.

I agree with Mel, call animal control and see if they have a leash law for cats.
If they don't you can purchase a raccoon trap and catch it yourself Turn it into animal control who will give them a specified number of days to claim it. If it isn't vaccinated against rabies, (and they must provide proof), they will get a ticket and in some counties this means a mandatory court appearance.
If they don't claim it it will either be adopted out, or euthanized within a few days.

I had a neighbor with a dog who would do that.
Eventually I just used a trowel to gather up the poop and set it nicely on their porch step since it belonged to them. Didn't say a word, just left it there for them every day after the dog did it's business. It's perfectly ok to do a silent protest, especially if this is from their pet.

Cats don't like tin foil, or the white gardening stones. The surface is uneven. Unfortunately it would cost a bit of $ to put gardening stones down over the soil. Try sprinkling pepper or cayenne powder along the soil, that might discourage kitty from coming back. You could get a doggy?

Try spraying your yard down with Pine-Sol. It won't hurt your grass or plants, and cats HATE the smell of it and won't go around it. Citrus (especially orange) works too, but doesn't last as long. PLEASE don't spray the cat with this stuff!
