Can anyone give me some advice on this

My cat had this problem a few months ago. It turned out he had a kidney infection caused by stress (other cats in the area were fighting with him) which required antibiotics.

The reason the cat is peeing in the bath is that it is cool there as obviously he is having some discomfort passing urine and for some reason they tend to pee in baths, sinks and on worktops as the hard/cool surface must soothe.

I'd take him to the vet pronto because this can develop into a much more serious situation where the urethra can become blocked and if left untreated the cat can die within a couple of days due to toxins not being passed out of the body.

As for finding out which cat that is having the problem, this is difficult I am sure, but I know from my experience my cat was crying a lot and moaning/wingeing and always seemed to be trying to go to the toilet out in the garden, then started using the bath indoors. He didn't seem himself for a couple of days and then the blood in the urine confirmed he wasn't feeling too well.

Good luck!

One way or another, the cat HAS to go to the vet straight away. This is the sort of problem that looks quite alarming but can probably be treated quite easily, effectively and inexpensively with antibiotics, but if its left untreated it won't just go away, it will get worse and the cat will end up in terrible pain and seriously ill. If money is a problem perhaps she can make a saving by going without something herself for a little while, or perhaps you could lend her some towards it and agree that she will pay you back a bit at a time. If its a straightforward antibiotics treatment, you're probably not looking at too much more than about £25.00

You cat has a kidney infection an needs to see the vet soonest. The reason for peeing in the bath is wanting warmth. Try and keep your cat as warm as possible.

Hope that your cat recovers quickly but this will only happen if you get it to the vets pretty damn qucik. May also have kidney cyst.

All the best and try not to worry too much. x

Cats who are experiencing pain upon urination will often forgo the litter box- assuming that the litter box is the source of the pain.
I would be getting to the vet with the suspect cat- here's how to figure out wich cat it is-
lock each cat in the washroom individually- with a litter box- and water- wait and see who has wee wee'd in the tub.
Or bring all six cats to the vet and have the vet examine each of them for crystals, kidney, liver problems- regardless sounds serious to me, and a vet trip is definately suggested.
by the way I had a female cat with crystals- it can and does happen to girls- just not as frequently as it seems to happen to males.
Good luck-

Confine three cats at random in the bathroom for 12 hours. If none of them indicates the pink, then it's one of the other three so at least you can narrow things down.

Is it red or pink? Usually this means the lining of the bladder is infected and irritated, with 'stones' which are actually like bits of sand rubbing areas raw. Vets try to flush out the bladder to get rid of these, but in cases where there's too much they may need to do another option.

Is anyone acting differently? Appetite? Listless? Maybe you can narrow it down that way. Otherwise, you may have to watch them all very closely when the use the box. It will be expensive to take them each to the vet but you need to figure it out soon since he/she obviously has an infection. Call your vet in the morning for possible ideas. Good luck!

the reason one of your cats is peeing in the bath and it has blood in it is because either it is blocked (urinary tract) or it has infection in the urinary tract...i could help you narrow it down by telling you 9 chances out of 10 it is a male cat that is doing this...observe your male cats depending on how many of your 6 are male...and this needs vet treatment asap could be fatal if he cant pee and his urine backs up into his blood stream go to an emergency vet hopefully you have one in your area this is serious

its most likely a male cat, he has a urine infection, you must find out which cat it is and get it to a vet asap . this happened to my cat, he was peeing small amounts very frequently, watch all your cats closely, one will be very restless and trying too pee all the time!
my cat spent a week in the vets, he nearly died and was on medication for 3mths. you must get this cat to a vet
good luck.

When my cat had bloody urine we took it to the vets and it had a kidney infection..i lost my cat from that. I would take them to the vet and find out which one it is. if it is kidney infection, you should get there before it is too late.
