From personal experience, I've found that the sex usually isn't the determining factor as to if pets will get along with each other.

About four years ago, I had a 6-month old German Shepard puppy, and two kittens (brother and sister), that were 7-months old. They all got along very well, other than the puppy liking to play with the kittens a tad roughly at first. :p No harm was done, though, I highly assure you.

Anyways! The age of the dogs might also be a factor. If they're young, they might get a little too hyper with a kitten. Those are both large-ish dogs you have, so I would be a little concerned. Doggies often think of small animals as bunnies or something of that nature. Not trying to say anything ill about your puppies at all! Just warning you. :)

I have found with my experience with cats that males, once neutered, are usually more docile. Females tend to get rather moody. In my opinion, however, you can determine the mood/personality of a kitten merely by spending time with it first. I think that you should think long and hard before making your desicion. :)

i don't 'think the sex of the cat would matter to the dogs; however you will probably have to supervise their interaction for the first several days you have the new kitten.

usually, dogs will catch on that the kitten is a new "family member" and treat it well. still, you really need to be cautious, and keep the kitten confined away from the dogs when you can't watch them (until you know it's safe to leave them on their own around home). make sure the cat has a litter pan where ever it is confined, also. you don't want accidents.

personally i have always liked the neutered male cats the best. they are more loveable for some reason

take care

Well, I hope that the dogs like cats. I really think that dogs and cats don't mix all that well. Especially if the dogs are older and didn't start out with a cat.

I wouldn't get another pet, just pay attention to and play with the two dogs that you have now.
