It was absolutely gorgeous! Blue eyes. I looked on the web and a meerkat is mongoose family but this was a cat, a house cat. And it did have the traits of the mongoose where it stood up straight on its hind legs. It had beautiful markings. Anyone else have one or seen one? I'd like to know more about them. When I look up meerkat it only comes up with the mongoose family animal.

I would guess that it is a domestic hybrid cat.. Check out the picks on this link.. and look at the other types. First will be Safari cat, but there are links on it to egyptian mauh's, bengals.. etc.. Each generation the hybrids tend to look a little closer to house cats.. , but they retain a wildness about them..

Maybe the person is a MeerKat Manor fan, so they think their cat acts like one and might be one. There are few meerkats longer than 12 inches, plus they are a regulated species. All the meercats I know have black eyes, not one has blue. Some cats and dogs have actions which are very similar to the MeerKats, in particular the Whiskers.
Hey, just play along because and tell them (if it is a female) that she certainly has Flower Power! LOL!

For one thing a meerkat looks nothing like a real cat. And they don't have blue eyes. If you want to know what breed of cat it is, go on google or yahoo and type in cat breeds. You should be able to find out what kind of cat it is. Good luck and tell the dork that thinks it;s a Meerkat that they need to get glasses.

Im pretty sure it is not a meerkat...since they are no part of the feline species..

But here is a pic of a meerkat -> http://www.sa-venues.com/wildlife/images/meerkat.jpg

And a better description or a picture of the cat would greatly help!
