I have been around pets all my life...I should know this one! I have a kitten I have been handfeeding for 4 weeks...I have his full brother who is 4 months old and SHORT haired. How can I tell if this little guy is long haired? He sure looks it right now. Both are 1/2 ragdoll (mom is pure) dad is a grey shorthair mix.

With kittens that little, it's often hard to tell. After all, they look more like balls of fluff than anything else.

But according to an article I read about ragdolls some months ago, these kitties do have very thick fur. Not long, like a Persian's, but thick. So your little guy is probably going to look long-haired until he gets a bit of growth on him.

it's not something you can easily tell with mixed parentage. Half ragdoll and half shorthair could be medium, long haired, or short haired. The best way to tell is let them get older. Fluffy kittens don't always mean fluffy cats.

Look at his ears. Is there long fur on/in ears? My longhaired cat had long fur on ears when he was a kitten. My other two did not and they have much shorter hair.
