My female cat went missing for about 2 days, when she finally returned home we found her under the porch, not wanting to move too much, she has a small mark on the top of her head, a semi deep scratch on her neck, and a cut on her chest area, inch or so below her neck that had bled pretty bad. I cleaned it up as best i could, but the closer to the cut i got the more she fought to pull away. She had a slight limp wich has gotten better an seems to had lost a lil weight. Also her left eye seems to be acting up, not wanting to close all the way. I am very concerned but my mom and dad seem to think she just mated. Should i be concerned about her? She is improving daily and gaining weight back already, should i watch for signs pregnancy or do you think she just got beat up by a neighbors cat?

A few months ago, one of our cats got run over, so we decided to bring our other cat inside and make him an indoor cat. Then we took in a stray to give him a home and to give the other cat a new buddy.
Now the new cat is driving us nuts. We love him to death, but he's very needy and whiny. Some night he'll actually jump on the bed and sleep with us, but usually, he just paces around the bed meowing up at us incessantly. If we shut him out of the room, he scratches at the door and meows like crazy. He wakes us up several times a night doing this.
My husband has been putting him outside at night when he starts this, and then he'll let him back in the next morning. But I have trouble sleeping then because we've already had one cat get run over. I don't want him to get hurt, too. I prefer him inside, where I know he's safe. But he's driving us crazy!

What can we do? Anything??

Next week I'm moving from low ground to the mtns. I tried to place my 12 yr old cat with a new family since where I am moving to already is occupied by an aggressive cat. However since no families adopted her, I am going to take her with me. I am worried about how to get her to drink enough during the drive up, especially since she will be in the carrier the majority of the time. The car will be packed full so I can't let her roam. I know drinking water helps me adjust to the altitude. She is a nervous one, but I'd like to make her as comfortable as possible. Suggestions?

I am on a business trip and my boyfriend called me this morning and told me that our cat Mocha is sick. He said that she peed on him in the middle of the night and when he woke up there were solid turds and wet poop call over the house. When he went into the kitchen she was lying in the middle of the floor and wouldn't move, he let her out side and she's just standing by the door shaking her butt like it burns. Some one have any idea what might be wrong with her??? HELP!!!
Thanks

My mother is helping a stray cat with a litter of five kittens, about 5 or 6 weeks old. The cat is partially tame. We are not certain if the cat has an infection. Additionally, the cat has been in the company of at least one unneutered male cat. We have antibiotics suitable for feline administration, but are uncertain whether they can be given to the cat if she is pregnant, again. We may take her to the vet, although that might be difficult due to the fact that she is not totally tame, and in a large dog cage with her kittens. The cage would be quite difficult to transport with the cat and her kittens. Does anyone know if Clavomox (Amoxicillin) is O.K. to give to a cat, if she may be pregnant, again. Yes, we can consut a vet, and I did read the info. re. Clavomox not being thoroughly tested in pregnancy. Wondering if anyone else has had experience with this? The cat will be spayed, but we need to know what to do in the mean time.

My Kitten Cleo has always been a fussy eater since she was young, tried her with wet kitten food when she was younger n she didnt eat as much as i thought she would, so i took her to the vet and they tried her with dry kitten food (Hiil Science Plan) which she has been eating really well since the vet changed it. So all she eats is Hills Science Plan and Whiskers cat milk, she doesnt like Tuna, Fish, Chicken or any kind of meat. Is anyone elses cat like this?? She also drinks plenty for water so is not unhealthy.

My cat use to go outside every day, but since her brother went missing i dont want to let her go out in case she gets killed. but she meows most of the time, i play with her, she has fresh food and water at all times, and her litter box is always clean! so i think its because she wants to go out. But dose anyone know how i can make her happier?
If any one knows of how to make good cat treats at home please share the recipie.

I volunteer and foster for Bengal Rescue and it's kitten season and it just seems there are never enough foster homes! If you would like to foster Bengals, or any other breed, including just "regular cats," I can probably point you in the right direction.
Fostering is very rewarding. There's nothing like going to a kill shelter and "springing" a cat to give it a second chance. It's been a wonderful experience for our whole family. I'm not going to lie and say there are never problems but I haven't had any yet. And of course as a volunteer you get to draw the line whereever you want.

Fostering is also a good idea if you are thinking about adopting but aren't sure. You can see what it's like to actually live with the cat/breed you are interested in without making a committment, and yet you are helping, not adding to the shelter population by giving up an animal that didn't work out. And most rescues will give you "dibs" if you "fall in love" with one and decide to adopt.

cat food consistent? I am sick of having to return cat food to the store because I purchased a case that was hard, or too mushy, or my cat won't eat it because it's not like the last case they ate...I am sick of wasting my time and the expensive medication that I have to put in their food that eventually gets dumped down the disposal. I have written to these companies, spoken with them on the phone, done everything I can think of, but the madness continues. I am sure that I am not alone on this and it needs to be stopped. As expensive as the healthy food is to buy for our pets, we should insist that the food is consistent each and every time.

I have a male cat i got 2 weeks ago and he isn't castrated (YET). He has this really oily, greasy area from teh base of hise tail to about 2-3 inches down. It gets matted really easy, I have tried to bath him with Dawn dish deterergent after I had tried cat shampoo ( I wated 3 days to do this) I even blew dried him but it just doesn't get any better.
I am a professional pet groomer and I know I have gotten all the soap out but nothing seems to work.
What can be wrong or is this ok??
I have been grooming professionally for about 15 years and I've never seen anythign like this.
Please help

I know there is no real answer but my mom died a month ago and my cat has been extremely clingy this past week, always sleeping in my bed with me and hardly ever leaving my side. She always used to be like this with my mom, but never with me. I know it could be argued that she's trying to make nice with me so I would feed her, but my dad always feeds her and i never do, and she's not acting clingy with him at all.
Is it possible that my cat is feeling lonely or can sense that my mom has died? Or perhaps she can sense my sadness and wants to comfort me? I know most philosophers maintain that animals are like machines and do not have emotions, but I believe this can prove otherwise.

Thanks!!
