My first two cats never ate kitten food, they didn't even make the stuff when they were babies and now my cats are healthy 14 year olds. My younger cats were fed kitten food and they still preferred to steal the oder cats adult food. I honestly don't think it makes much of a difference though it is higher in protein calcium and other nutrient which are good for growing kittens. If she won't eat the kitten stuff it's better that she eat adult food than nothing at all.

It's okay, I would try mixing the kitten food in with the adult though. The kitten food has more fat and nutrients, "stuff kittens need" more, in it than adult food. My 2 year old still eats kitten food because he is so tiny and highly energetic and barely keeps on weight. He eats adult food too, plus treats and a minimal amount of moist food. You can't just switch completely from adult food to the kitten, you should mix in the kitten food with the adult, and add more of the kitten food over a few days to a week at most. Cats generally eat the kitten food until they are about a year old, then you wean them to adult food.

really adult cat food is a bit rich 4 a kitten of that age even tho the kitten has been brought up on adult cat food its not wise 2 feed a young kitten of that age on that food i would suggest 2 leave the kitten food down 4 it after a while it will eat it or you could even try kitten complete biscuits it will eat if you persevere with putting the kitten food down but complete biscuits is alot better and cheaper good luck

At nine weeks, the kitten should still be eating kitten food, but making a cat eat something it doesn't like is like trying to nail jello to the wall.
Kitten food has extra vitamins and other ingredients that kittens need to develop properly, but the main thing it contains that adult food lacks is calcium. See if the kitten will eat cottage cheese. Another way to get it extra calcium is by diluting evaporated (condensed, but not the sweetened condensed milk) milk one part milk to one or two parts water. Cats have trouble digesting the big protein molecules of cow's milk, but the process of making ecsaporated milk breaks the molecules down. Or you could buy it KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement) at pet stores, but it's expensive.

Try half kitten food and half adult food. Mix them together and slowly increase the amount of kitten food over the adult food.
If she refuses to accept the kitten food, don't worry. She will live, maybe she'll be a bit smaller than other cats.

The kitten food has more nutrition the kitten neeeds.
You may need to try to mix both foods or leave teh kitten food down for 2-3 days most animals won't starve themselves and will eventually eat. if you only give him a day and then give him what he wants he's learning he can have what he wants and what's not as good for him.

Try to mix the adult and kitten food, and everyday add more kitten and less adult food.
Your kitty should eat kitten food until he/she is about 1, and which point you can slowly switch over to adult food, by mixing adult and kitten again, transitioning over to adult.
