My Kitten Cleo has always been a fussy eater since she was young, tried her with wet kitten food when she was younger n she didnt eat as much as i thought she would, so i took her to the vet and they tried her with dry kitten food (Hiil Science Plan) which she has been eating really well since the vet changed it. So all she eats is Hills Science Plan and Whiskers cat milk, she doesnt like Tuna, Fish, Chicken or any kind of meat. Is anyone elses cat like this?? She also drinks plenty for water so is not unhealthy.

My cat is the same way. It only eats dry food. I give it the dry food from Costco that has chicken as its first ingredient. It was a wild cat and ate wet food a couple of times then turned its nose up at it. I did have a cat that liked cooked chicken but not this one. I think the tuna is too rich for cats, and the other meats just don't smell right to the cats.

The only other meat it likes is mice. It catches mice and eats them. He hardly drinks water. He is more like a lion in that he doesn't drink often but drinks a lot when he does.

People don't seem to realize that cats are really wild. If you've noticed they strike out violently at times just like a wild animal.

I have two cats, brother and sister. Bailey loves meat but Turkish turns his nose up at it. He has always been fussy, when he was younger i thought he would grow out of it but i give up now. I have tried all sorts of expensive complete dry foods and he seems to like them for a short time then refuses to eat them. I have managed to find one dry food that he cant get enough of and its Go Cat (the cheapest!!) BUT only the pink fishy variety!!!!!!! He is mad, he will meow and purr and go crazy if he wants his fav food. Bless he is so Sweet. If i put freshly cooked chicken, tuna, etc in front of him hes no interested. I have never really looked into why he is like this because he is a very happy cat and wants for nothing so i guess cats can be veggies too!!!!!!!!

The dry food is unhealthy for her and there is no way she can drink enough water to cover the water that is lost in the making of dry foods. The rise in the use of dry foods has also seen a rise in kidney disease and diabetes in cats. Whether your cat likes human meat or not, it is a carnivore and needs meat to survive. If you cannot find a canned food (without gravy) that she likes, maybe you want to consider a raw food diet

Well thats an interesting kitty you have ! Well i own a Lassa Aapso and he has similar problems, allthough not a cat.. a dog is supposed to like bones and meat, but my boy dosent. He is 8 years old now and very healthy, all that he eats is milk rice and Lamb soup without any meat in it. When he was a was a pup we had him on milk and puppy food diet. when we started him on meat he wouldnt eat.. so initially my sister used to mince up the meat with rice .. make it into a semi solid paste and we used to force feed him with a spoon ( trust me it wasnt easy) .... and he used to eat that way. but later we realised that he liked having milk and rice , and moreover is was being a task for ma sis to feed the bugger everytime... so we let him be and ever since he has been on milk rice and lamb soup . So dont be worried. I also knew a friends dos who used to eat raw onions, raw potatoes and even raw radish (beat that) !

This does not mean your cat is a vegetarian! Hello: Please look up the definition for that word. Some cats are just picky. As long as she is eating enough cat food (has meat in it, it says it in the ingredients) and enough water do not worry. It is normal for a cat to be finicky with food.
Dont worry,
Andrea

There was a famous lion cub named Little Tyke, raised as a kind of pet (it was orphaned). It was completely vegetarian, by it's own choice. It refused to have anything to do with any kind of meat. Worried for it's health, it's owners tried sneaking a few drops of blood into it's milk, but it wouldn't touch it!! Not even with one or two drops in it's bottle/pan.

True story.

all cats are different, just like people. My cat wont eat dry food or turkey. If they dont like meat then they dont like meat. Just make sure you get a good dry food for her

If she is eating kitten food, she is eating meat. Meat is in the food. Vegetarians do not eat any meat products at all.

YES! I have 2 cats, and they both hate meat. They piss all over the house if I give it to them...or any wet food.

My cat doesn't like many kinds of fish and beef, but he loves boiled chicken. I've never met a cat so far who doesn't like boiled chicken!
