My cat use to go outside every day, but since her brother went missing i dont want to let her go out in case she gets killed. but she meows most of the time, i play with her, she has fresh food and water at all times, and her litter box is always clean! so i think its because she wants to go out. But dose anyone know how i can make her happier?
If any one knows of how to make good cat treats at home please share the recipie.
thanks

I'm so sorry to hear about your other cat, I used to have seven cats but like you unfortunately lost two, one was knocked down and killed and the other has never came home.
I was like you and wanted to keep my other cats in but this is really unfair as they were used to going out, my wife insisted it was crueler to keep them in after they had been used to their freedom.
All five go out and my heart goes in my mouth when they go near the road (which isn't busy) but it would be cruel for me to keep them in as all five are so independent.
I'm sorry to say but the kindest thing you could do is to let your cat be a cat, house cats which have never been outside will not miss the outdoors but it is unkind if they have been out.
I hope you make the right choice and think about your cats needs but I do fully understand your reasons.
Good luck.

It's hard if not impossible for that desire to roam the outdoors unless the cat was brought in at an early age and never allowed to go out.
My cat Tucker (girl) has not been out in 6 years, she is around 7 years old but there is that instinct to be outdoors hidden in the brush preying on prey for all cats indoor or outdoor, feral or domesticated. So I treat Tucker many (almost all) windows that she can sit in or lay down by and look out plus smell/hear/react some, plus under some windows I plant sunflowers and catnip (Nepta Cateria) this gets the birds/butterflies and the smell of catnip right too Tucker.
Try to give your cat lots of access to windows especially for fresh air but be aware of low lying windows where another cat could get to yours and fight through the screen or worse rip it and get in plus sometimes they like to mark (spray). My windows are 3 feet above the ground so Tucker is Queen above all that roam by be it; squirrels/cats/possums/dogs/bugs and the post man.
I would advise metal screening instead of the mesh (plastic) screens.
Good Luck!!
Remember to have you're cat spayed or neutered!!

Feeding your cat when it wants to go outdoors does not make sense.
The only way you will make your cat happy is to let it outside if it is used to that.
When you get an indoor/outdoor pet, you always run the risk of something happening to it.
FYI cats are lactose intolerant so do not feed it treats that contain milk or dairy.

suggestion:
you can get an indoor/outdoor facility, that allows the cat to experience some of the outdoors, but keeps her safe from dogs, cars, mean people, other predators, etc.
I am saying this only because her brother went missing.
spending time with her is good, but she also needs to fulfill that niche that all felines feel.
another option is to walk her on a leash with a halter or similar device. this will allow her to walk and be outside, but safe.

You could buy a cat harness and walk your cat.

My bf's parents do it, it works out great.
Your cat probably misses going outside, poor thing.

Your doing the best you can atm.

Let her go outside, if her brother was killed it doesnt mean she will too, she proberly misses going outside.
