If your kitty is eating well & healthy, his whiskers are probably short because of his age & will grow in time. If you think he might be ill, have your vet check him out. When we first adopted our tuxedo cat, Fritta, she was sick & her whiskers kept falling out. Our vet explained that her body was putting all its energy into healing instead of growing whiskers. Sure enough, as soon as she got better the whiskers grew in beautifully. Fritta is now 9 years old & still has long, beautiful whiskers.

This whiskers grow gradually, don't be alarmed by their short length for about 5 months from now. They help a cat know if their body will fit into a closed space....so they should be roughly the size of if not broader than the widest part of his body. If they are significantly shorter than his body, try to keep him away from small spaces that he could get stuck in.

Give it time. If he is still tiny and short whiskered at six months, then you can start getting concerned.

its probably just a growth diease. 3 of my cats have it and they're fine. it doesnt really matter the length of the whiskers just aslong as they have some.

He's fine, don't worry. They'll grow when the time comes! Often they are just very fine when they are little, but they will do what he needs them to do--which is to keep him out of too small spaces. Just love him and take care of him and don't pull at them worrying about it.
