You are seeing a tapeworm segment, which contains eggs. They look like rice and can move when first eliminated, then they dry up and look like a sesame seed. The pills (praziquantel) are now sold over the counter, and you can get them from your vet very easily. One dose will kill them. If they eat an infected flea, they can reinfect themselves and you'll see more in about a month. The other cats may or may not have them--only if they ate an infected flea. The drug is very safe so it wouldn't hurt to deworm them if you're not sure.

I do not know the name of the worm, but the deworming process is rather simple. Your vet can give a tablet which is kind of an "all purpose" dewormer. I would recommend you do all of your cats as well as any dogs you may have.

Sounds like you cat has tapeworms which means your cats must have fleas. Its no big deal just go to the vet and pick up advantage which is the fastest acting flea product available. Also all of your cats should be dewormed.

Yes, Had to deworm my kitten when we got her from the pound. Poor thing was hungry all the time. Couldn't get enought to eat. Then she began hiding. I found little dried up worms on the bed. They looked like pieces of rice. Just take her to the vet for a quick fix. They will make her/him swallow some medicine (looks like pepto bismal). She/he should poop them out in the next couple of days. They can give her a shot too. The medicine from the pet stores aren't as effective. Good luck!

Very possible they may all have worms unless you have them on like Revolution or Advantage. What your kitty has is segments of Tape worms which are cause my your kitty grooming it-self and ingesting a flea. Very seldom do you actually see fleas on cats because they are such good groomers unless they are infested. Your kitties need to be de-wormed through your vet. Your vet may ask for a stool sample to look for other different parasites but I would put my money on what the kitty has. They do look like " rice " around the anal area.
Time to see the vet "-)

sounds like may be a tapeworm. They resemple a grain of rice and when they come out they susally are still moving. They are transmitted by eatting fleas, and yes if one cat has them, they all more than likely do. The vet will prescribe you a liquid wormer, and you will get a follow up dose for a couple weeks later
