he said intubate, not incubate, which means she went into respritory distress, this happens when the animals body has an allergic or negative reaction to the drugs administered.

The throat will close up and the cat was unable to breath.

Not the vets fault, but you should ask him to be more thorough with you.

The tube in her body is going down into her lungs and there is a machine attached supporting her breathing.

She will hopefully, eventually come out of this.

Good Luck

You misunderstood the vet. The vet did not say "incubate", it was "intubate". And yes, they stuck a tube down her throat so she could breathe. There could be any number of reasons why this was necessary. A good guess is that the cat reacted badly to the anesthetic and stopped breathing. Ask your vet for more details.

Intubate, not incubate
It means just what you said - a tube to hold the airway down so the O2 goes right into the lungs.

Well a tube down the throat during surgeries are always used.Plus most dogs and cats are put in a incubater to help them breath after birth/c section.

It is very common for animals and humans without proper oxygen to be incubated. Incubation is the process of putting it in a fish tank-like area so it can get proper oxygen from machines and such.
