my mom cared for my cat for about a yr and ahalf...now he's living back with me (and my hubby and his 2 cats)....i got him back yesterday and of course he is all scared and stressed out from the changes......i normally would do my vacuuming tomorrow, but i know cats get freaked out by the noise anyways, and then him having just had his entire world turned upside down....i'm thinking i should wait to run the vacuum and save him the additional stress.......but how long should i wait??

I'm thinking of having Soft Paws (a thin plastic coating) put on my cats' claws and was looking for some feedback. Has anyone used this and if so how well did it work?

I have one but it's in German, so I don't know the instructions. I don't want to hurt my cat nor myself using this product. It's one of those band things that you fasten around the cat's neck and it's supposed to get rid of fleas and parasites. Anyone know how to use this thing and how to dispose of it? Thanks.

First couple of days his poos were fine but then he started to get diarrhea. I've heard that if you change their food it gives them an upset tummy so i'm wondering if he had different food before i got him.

I've also heard that whiskers is bad for them but i don't want to change it now incase that makes his tummy worse!

Anyone experience the same thing or know what to do?

My maine coon is very friendly to others. Its not that she goes out running to them as she goes for birds when she finds them sitting on the window pane. I also have a persian breed and she is also friendly to her. But whenever she sees some other cats from our neighbourhood she behaves in this fashion.

when i got home from work lastnight my boyfriend informed me that my kitten ate his salsa! he had left it out on the coffee table when he got up to get something to drink, by the time he got back a good bit of it was gone. I looked at the indregients to make sure there was no onion powder. Im a little worried about him, he seemed fine again this morning...should i worry to just expect him to get the shits?

it really bothers me when people let their cats out. i love my cat to pieces and it makes me sick to my stomache evry time i see a dead cat in the road. actually, it makes me sick to see any animal dead in the road, but house pets really get to me. i do not let my cat outside at all. she is perfectly happy, and healthy in every way. there is alot of things that can happen to them out there. i have actually seen a very large hawk take off with a cat. talk about horrible. please love your animals and keep them safe in your home.

What's the longest your cat has been gone and returned home? My baby, Dixie(who is 9 months old), has been missing since New Years Day. I am really beside myself with worry! I don't live near a busy highway, I know my neighbors, and I have a huge wooded area behind my house. Any ideas on where to look? Sucsess stories? I have had several outdoor cats go missing and return home months later, but not indoor ones.

Not to mention, my other indoor cat, Skittles, misses her dearly!

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

How would the cat understand you are punishing him?

At about 3 months old he would meeow outside the bedroom. We would lock him in the back porch(cat flap free for him to go in and out;cat food and milk).Another cat would occasionally come in and he would fight then;again waking us. He has resorted to going round the front of the house now and meeows outside to wake us.if we let him in he pulls at the carpet outside the bedroom. He also hisses at us if we try to catch him when in the bedroom. When we go upstairs he has an obsession to follow us into either bedroom and hide under the bed. Its very stressful and tiring - cat induced insomnia. We have resorted to letting him in the room but he keeps moving and im a light sleeper.

Apart from clipping his claws and removing his voice box(if they have one)! we dont know what to do. If its any help he has a split personality one minute cuddle then he attacks an bites much like a snake; head back then dives in- wild cat!
