Yes contact your local ASPCA, Animal Control, or Law Enforcement Agency. Animal Cruilty is Animal Cruilty don'tmatter what the animal is.

He must be the naughty sportsman who asks all the dumb questions. Yes you can get into trouble for harming cats, or dogs.

If you feel you are justified with a neighbor, call either your local police or the humane society. They will investigate and keep your name out of it. Abusing anyanimal should come with heavy fines.

Good luck.

Yes, but the laws vary greatly from one jurisdiction to another.

Call the nearest SPCA or Humane Society to find out what the law is where you live.

You definetly can.

I know this because I was.

I live in a very woodsy area. My neighbor is a kook who has turned his car-port into a playground for feral cats. People bring him stray's all the time. He buys and puts out food for the cats all the time.

Understand this is a big problem as there are over 100 feral cats running around doing damage to the neighborhood. I tried Jaguar Urine, capsaicin based repellant and a sonic device that was supposed to keep them off my property but none of them worked for long.

I went to the town hall and complained till I was blue in the face and I kept complaining all the way to our Alderman and selectman. They said that there was nothing they could do, unless I was willing to pay 40 bucks for each cat to go to the humane society.

I was sick of not being able to beautify my property with flowers/plants/ornamets and of finding cat excrement on my driveway, deck, car, lawn etc etc....

One day when I was coming home from work, and I saw a spring wreath I had just paid 70 bucks for torn to shreds I had had enough. So I put out some rat poisoned tuna.

Four cats died on the neighbors property that same night. He called the police, who of course were able to put two and two together. I am NOT the only person in the neighborhood that has complained about the cats, but I did complain the loudest.

I was very , very , very lucky to get off with a fine for 1,200 bucks. Apparently cats have more right to be on my property than I do.....

I hired a lawyer and sued the neighbor over and over again for various legal reasons, all stemming from the cats he was feeding.

Nothing worked and he is a whack job.

Finally someone suggested i go to the board of health. They went out and inspected and told him he had to stop feeding the cats, he refused and they started levying fines on him. Two months later he moved out and now most of the cats had died off.

If it had been rats, possum, squirrels, beavers etc etc I would never have had the problems I did. Cats are seriously protected in the US.
