Ask the vet for more details, usually cats that have worms get thin regardless of how much they eat. Has she other symptoms, you have to investigate with your vet, and if you have a good vet they should pull out all the stops and get to the root of it.
I had a cat for 29 years ok I will admit he was old,but in the end although he was a great fellow and smashing friend the vet was always there for me and my Tiggy.
Take her back to the vet and demand other tests.
Good Luck

What's actually the matter with her? Is she overweight? Have a number of rescue animals and have found over the years that the ones that at one point didn't have food and or where badly abused comfort eat. I've had two cats that everytime I gave them a cuddle or stroked them they then went and had a mouthful of food. I never restricted their diets and eventually they learnt that there would always be found and love and stopped this behaviour. Cats can be complex.

Cats tend to get thinner when they get older. My late cat ( Bless him) used to be a chubby thing, but when it was older ( it lived for 18 yrs) he became noticably thinner. Maybe that is it. But: keep an eye out, and if he gets really thin go to the vet. Maybe he has some problem with his intestines. It is an old cat, proine to cancer and stuff.

Good luck!

There are too many variables to answer this. How old is old? Do you feed her dry or wet food? Do you feed her so she can "snack"? And have you, or the vet , thought that maybe it's hairballs? Is she gaining or losing weight? You haven't really specified what the problem is.

Why do you think she's ill? You haven't described any symptoms. Three small meals a day is fine. Cats nibble, unlike dogs who wolf down a large meal more irregularly.

Get a blood test done on her to see if her organs (especially kidney and liver) are functioning well.

Hi there...generally, it may be helpful to consider an alternative veterinary opinion as aging cats can suffer many types of age-related disorders such as chronic renal failure (CRF), hyperthyroidism, diabetes, etc.
