I moved into a neighborhood full of stray/abandoned cats & have tried for ages to get help from welfare groups etc to rescue them, but eventually realised I had to do it myself so I set up a website aimed at getting 13 stray cats living on my street into loving homes. The site has live streaming video of the kitties needing homes and all the kitties enjoy hip- hop music...so on Saturday mornings they play for 1/2 hour to hip hop (which is now!). So please tune in and help a good cause??? And tell me, do you like cats & hip hop music? The street kitties sure enjoy it! http://www.kittiesinthehood.com

I have 2 five month old male cats. They refuse to use their scratching toys. I've heard that its considered cruel to declaw cats, but the way I see it is I'm giving them a safe home, food, and love. Its better than being on the streets starving. Is it so much to ask that my furniture not be destroyed? They are 100% indoor cats, so they dont need to defend themselves. My mother in laws cats are declawed and seem fine. So whats the big deal? Would it really be horrible of me to declaw them?

They are both male, and about 5 months old. I've tried putting catnip on the post, I've tried holding their paws and showing them how, I've even tried the cardboard scratchers, the rope ones, and the carpet ones. Still, they dont even touch them. They prefer my furniture. grrr... any advice? I've never had cats before

My aunt took my cats to the vets for me to get shots and neutered. She brought home a medicine for them called Metacam and the paperwork never says what it is for. Anyone know? I'm just curious, thanks:)

about a week or so ago i noticed a bump near the base of his tail. over the next few days it got larger until it was a little smaller than half of my fist. i put hot compresses on it but nothing made it smaller. then it seemed to pop and started oozing red puss. i put peroxide on it and thought everything would be ok. but then yesterday i noticed it was back, the same size as before. and now it is oozing again.

it seems he sleeps a lot more than he used to and is acting aggressive. he growls at me when i touch him or for no reason at all. i haven't noticed him eating a lot, either.

yesterday when i noticed the bump again i touched it to see if it was warm and he really didn't like it, so I assume the area is sensitive.

i am planning on taking him to the vet very soon but i would like to know what is wrong with him. i love him very much and it's heartbreaking for me to see him so miserable.

thank you for any help you can give me.

Hello! I've decided to adopt a 6 year old female cat! I already have two 6 month old kittens (male and female) at home. (All three are spayed and neutered!!) I have a few questions...
1. Will the kittens be ok with the older girl, and will she be ok with them?
2. I don't like the name she was given. Can I change it, or is she too old for me to change it?
3. I think I need some litter box suggestions. I use the clumping litter and scoop out the boxes at least twice a day, put the clumps into grocery bags, and put them in the garbage. I find that I am running out of bags, and that the kitchen smells like urine. What works for you guys? How do you clean up/dispose of the clumps??

Thank you!!

Things to remember while answering:

1-We live on a boat part-time. She loves the water, the boat, has never lived off it except for about 2 weeks when she was born. Isabel (Issy) is now 2 1/2.

2-Even though it is a dog-collar, it fits her perfectly. It COULD be a cat collar. Just the label says it's a dog collar.

3-She doesn't get tangled up in the lines. No how, no way. She sits underneath our dodger and suns herself.

4-The only reason we have the harness is so she doesn't fall overboard and get killed by both the freezing cold water and the racing current.

5-If GOD FORBID she falls overboard and hangs there until someone can "rescue" her, she won't be choking because it's a harness, not a collar.

6-Will it cause any harm to her forelegs? I don't want my cat to die...obviously that's why we bought her the harness in the first place!

7-Also, the harness will keep her from running off the boat andd getting lost in the city.

I live in Solano county, CA and am wondering which places you would recommend to have a kittens vaccinations, and dewormer done. The kittens I have just got, do not have fleas, or ear mites. The dewormer is just a precaution.

I have heard of Yolano Vet. They travel around my county and do mobile service. Usually in a parking lot somewhere. I am just trying to find out if there is a place sooner than next month coming to Vacaville, and if they are cheaper than yolano

My cat is a 3 y/o fixed male who has always been antisocial. He never would let anyone touch him and would run out of the room when a person entered it but now he is begging for our attention and food. this is a completely different cat than the one I know. Why is he doing this?

I have two declawed cats (Male and female litter mates) and my girlfriend has two clawed cats (Male and female litter mates) and we are planning on moving in together. My gut feeling is to have her cats declawed which she is amenable to do.
