He is bringing you gifts. When cats bring home dead birds they are bringing home gifts, so maybe it is the same thing because he can't get any dead birds.

Kitty is bringing you gifts / presents.

Just take it when she brings it in and dispose of it. I would neither praise or punish for this behavior. Be sure to investigate the trash to make sure there is nothing on it that could damage you or kitty. Sometimes people try to poison animals by putting out items soaked in antifreeze. Be sure that nothing coming in has this chemical on it. If it does, take kitty to the vet immediately, there is no time to waste!!!

She will stop bringing the trash in after awhile.

My thoughts are tho'... a safe cat is an indoor cat.

Chances are good these items are meant as offerings to you, the "top cat" in her book.

However, a lot of cats like to lie on paper... newspaper, magazines, junk mail, paper sacks, etc. So she might be bringing them in because she likes having lots of nap options. Take the plastic away immediately and NEVER reward her for bringing that in... it could be dangerous to her!

Your kitty is bringing you presents. She sees things that you use and bring in, and thinks, hey, mom could use one of these! Similar to cats leaving mice or birds on your doorstep... all gifts.

tell her Good kitty and dispose of it. She is going thrua phase, and it will pass..... give her the praise and love she is looking for!
