Cats are pretty good at holding themselves for a few hours. Make sure she visits the litter box before you leave, and don't feed her for 2 hours before you leave.
Also, make sure she travels in a pet carrier. Do not let her roam freely around your car.

As much as you love your kitten and don't want to be parted from it, as a former cat breeder who has had cats my entire life my advice is DON'T DO IT. A former boyfriend of mine thought it would be fun to bring my cat when he came pick me up. She went insane and peed all over the car. Not only was she terrified of going in the car ever again and peed herself every time she had to go to the vets, but the smell never came out!
Your kitten will be perfectly ok left at home for half a day, especially if she has a part dried food diet so you can leave some food for her to nibble on when she gets hungry. Also leave some fresh water and her usual litter tray and bed. She will be happy and secure in her familiar environment and pleased to see you when you come home. If she is very young, 6-12 weeks you might leave her a hot water bottle securely wrapped in a blanket in her bed in case she wants comfort.

You don't want to cart your kitten ever where you go like people do their dogs. Frequent car rides are fine, to get them used to car rides so that they don't freak when they have to go to the vet, but not to bring her everywhere you go. You can also bring her to the pet store, but please be sure all the shots are UTD first.
Also, when traveling, it's best to have a carrier of some sort. If she does freak, she could get under your footing and cause an accident where you aren't able to stop.

my boyfriends mum has a friend that is ill and need to stay at the hospital very regularly, and his cat will go with him everywhere and i mean anywhere one day he decided he didn't want to be at the hospital so got out of bed propped the cat under his arm and got a taxi home but this is the kind of thing this guy would do lol.
He is in a private hospital and the cat has free roam of the place and the person who is head of the hospital has had let him have the cat there, he also goes and sleeps on other patents beds and keeps them company lol.

Cats should NEVER be taken away from their home/territory! (Unless their need to go to the vet or such). They are NOT like small 'toy' dogs and should not be treated as such. Show it respect and treat it like the animal it is: an independent cat who needs her own private space and who is perfectly capable to take care of herself if you're away for half a day.

You shouldn't take your kitten with you everywhere and some places do not allow it, but if you are going to take it you need to make arrangements to care for it as it needs.

How silly, why do you want to take a bleedin cat everywhere. I personally would not let my friends bring pets into my house for the simple fact that they shed fur, let alone all the other filthy things they get up to

I take my kitty lots of places. I just get an extra kitty litter box and put it in the back seat and she knows where it is, though she has never used it in the car. I don't feed her in the car because they say cats will get car sick easily.
