Is that normal? I have never seen a cat pant before... He has plenty of food and water, and our house is kept at 65 degrees. Could be be overheating because of his coat?

Despite having cats for years, the latest 2 cannot workout how to use the cat flap, so we have to wedge it open, which is very draughty! HELP.

Looking for canned food with no by-products in it that my cat will enjoy. She doesn't like canned food that much. It is a hassel to feed it to her sometimes because she often needs to be pursuaded to eat it.

I have a nine month old male kitty, and he's just as cute as a button (and purrs whenever you touch him). He just happens to be somewhat destructive! I have venetian blinds on the windows of my apartment, and he chews and plays with them, the string, and completly destroys the blinds! I have several blinds now that I can't close properly and that I'll have to replace when I move; I really need him to stop. He can't possibly be teething anymore...how do I get him to stop biting the blinds? He has plenty of toys around the apartment, as well as two other cats that he raises heck with playing constantly.

I have a HUGE problem, i got male/female twin kittens for my daughter for her birthday, and I had every intention of having them fixed before any ummmm mistakes could happen, but i misjudged how long i had to do that... its too late i caught them. Im really worried , bubbles ( the female) seems too young, too small... i had no idea they mated so early. theyre under 10 months old... i guess thats almost a year, but i still see kitten, i had no idea they were near this stage.

What is the worst senerio here, i dont imagine theres anything i can do now??? :( I so didnt want this to happen. We have an adult male who is fixed, and i dont know, they seem so tiny compared to him, Are they mating early??? Im dont know if im more shocked or more bummed out, Its not that i dont love kittens, its just, im worried something could be seriously wrong, like two headed kittens.

Well, I made an appointment for her to get spayed and the day after Imake it, she goes into heat. Now the vet won't do it until she's done being in heat. The problem is, is that my male cat has already been fixed, but the female won't leave him alone. The male cat has become extremly aggressive with her. Is this normal for the male when a female is in heat, or is he just annoyed that she won't leave him alone. I can't let him out b/c the temp right now is -15, so he's in the basement so he doesn't hurt her. This cat is gonna be in heat for probably a month though before the vet will spay her. What should I do? Just keep them seperated as best I can, or is it normal for the male to act like this and let it be? He's pretty mad already to have to be stuck inside b/c it's so cold. Now with this other cat constantly waiving her butt in his face, he's really pissed off. She doesn't get it that he has no interest in mating.

I have a dog (german shepherd), who barks so loud (sleeps inside house) at night when the neighbour's cats (two of them!!) do their nightly toilet stop in my backyard. What can I do to stop them coming into my backyard? My dog sleeping outside is not an option. Also I don't want to scatter stuff that my dog could accidentally eat.

I have two cats, both 16. They both used to be happy to use the garden for their toilet, but one has recently started going on the front door mat.

I now have a litter tray beside the door, but when I got home yesterday there was a cat turd laid not a foot away from it and the tray was clean.

I'm pretty sure it's the female, who has always been a bit timid and a little scared of the male. He also uses the tray, which may put her off, but there's no way I can stop him.

Has anyone got any suggestions to stop her from messing where she shouldn't?

What breeds of cat have a reduced hunting instinct? Basically, I have a parrot that often flies loose but would also like a cat. I already know about the ragamuffin but would like a list of other breeds I could choose from. Any suggestions appreciated.

Yesterday we found a cat on our front porch (I don't think it is older than 4 months) It has a scratch on its nose but looks fine otherwise, a bit skinny maybe. Anyway we gave it some water and left it outside but this morning we went to leave our house and it was waiting for us. We took it to the local vet but they said we need to call the ranger. Its a public holiday (Australia day) and they were shut, they won't be open until monday. Is it safe to let the cat live in our house until then. They lady at the vet said they cat seemed fine. We are happy to keep the cat once it has been check and know that no one is going to claim it. It looks like it has been homeless fo a while but it is very friendly. What should we do with it until Monday?

Thanks Heaps :)

We have a small bedroom and if we close the door when we go to bed, in the morning the air becomes very stale. Also, during the night the cat scratches at the door and wakes both of us up. What can be done?

I wormed my cat with drops that were applied to the back of his neck. It was a brand that I have never used before.

About 5 minutes after it was applied he started frothing at the mouth and ran to go outside. I let him out, but kept an eye on him.

Approx 10 minutes later I checked on him and he was fine and was not frothing anymore.

I brought him in and gave him some treats as I thought maybe he might have reacted to the taste of it.

What could have caused him to do this?

I have an older female cat of three years that has bin spayed, but we got a kitten yesterday. How do you make them like eachother to avoid confrontation? They already hissed at eachother.

My friend is leaving for overseas and needs someone to look after his 3 cats. I've got a 1+ year old cat that is extremely playful and can be quite aggresive. I tried one of his cats (male) which is about the same age, but my cat ended up bullying it (licks and little bites) until it started hiding permanently in dark corners. Is this normal? We tried it for a week before returning it. Is it too short a time to judge them? Is there a chance that my friend's timid cat will come out and play given time? We want our cat to have a friend but not at the cost of that other cat being miserable. Help!
