...on shoes and wires. She's never done this before. She has no health problems and eats well. Anyone know why?

Hey,
I would have to say that most cats go through the chewing stage but at the age of 3 I don't know. Try checking her teeth so see if she has something stuck in her teeth or it could be a possible tooth problem. I know you said she was healthy but just like us we can be health and have teeth problems that are really no big deal. Just try checking her teeth and if you don't see anything try to find her something of her own to chew on. My cat Jimmy loves my sons stuffed animals. Good luck and best wishes.

Is there any possibility that she has something stuck in her teeth somewhere? If the cat has recently developed a mouth odor, there could be a gum infection or something could be lodged in there somewhere. On the other hand, it could be boredom or just an ejoyment of chewing things. My cat will chew / shred to pieces any piece of paper that falls on the floor or that is otherwise accessible to him. He really loves doing it. It requires a lot of attentiveness to make sure that documents that I need are not ruined. It has happened many times. Some cats really just like to chew.

Has there been a change in your life style? Are you hanging around someplace different, like someone who has a cat? Do they come to your house the smell could be wearing off onto your things! OR the cat could be sensing you stressing about something, or maybe the cat needs to have more play time! My cat is such a interesting creature. He takes a shower, yes goes under the shower not on full blast, he likes ice in his water, he wants his food pulled down in his dish by me not him to use his paw. He is extremely spoiled and i know I shouldn't do it but he came from an abusive home and he is a completely different cat now he is very comfortable with me now and he trusts me. He thinks it's his home and he lets me live here but pets are pets to be loved not tortured. Show them affection, this could be his way of asking for it!

Shes probably just bored, our cats were well fed and they wanted to chew on plants and shoes just for something different to mess around with. Try getting her some new toys or just wait until it wears off, she wont do it that long.

Make sure there isn't anything caught in the cats mouth. If everything is OK maybe she needs her teeth cleaned? Just a couple ideas. Good luck!
