Cats - January 2007

I have two girls left from a litter of kittens to have spayed. One of them sleeps in my bed, the other does not. BOTH cats, however, have peed in my bed. I've seen them spray - that's different - they actually squat and relieve themselves on my sheets, my blankets, my mattress (after I've removed the soiled sheets). Are they angry with me for some reason? Are they "marking their territory?" I thought animals didn't soil where they slept?

My cat has been vomiting lately and today I found worms in her vomit. They're white. about 5in long and thin and flat. Anyone know what they could be? We also have 2 dogs, a bird and 2 children in the house, I'm concerned for all their health.

last night i think my cat jumped on something sharp or scraped his paw against something, and now there's a cut there n slightly thick yellowish pus is coming out. it isnt deep and the bleeding has stopped. he has a slight limp now because he doesnt want to put weight on the paw. instead of taking it to the doctor is there any way i cud treat his paw myself at home? or shud i take him to the doctor and get anti-biotics in case of infections?

he's still eating well n doesnt seem to have a temperature or look ill.

She always has food, water, clean litter box, lots of toys, and lots of attention. The second no one is paying attention to her she starts up. Is she crazy or just silly?

Whenever my cat comes into my room she makes a beeline for a shoebox I have and she curls up and sits there. The same is pretty much for any other box we put in front of her. She always jumps right in.
Is there a reason cats like boxes so much? Or do they just do?

One of my cats threw up a thick white goo a couple times, and today another cat did. They aren't running a fever, and are only throwing up like once a day. I can't figure out what it is?

I about freaked. But when my friend and I looked closer, it looked like seeds. What seeds, however, I don't know. I have nothing like that around here. It was on her butt only and wiped off. Nothing was moving like a bug. Neither of my other 2 cats had it. I see nothing in the litter pan and she is very active and is eating and drinking just fine.

Could she have sat on something or am I overlooking worm larvae or something??

I have two cats - one's breath is just fine, the other's is stinky. They eat the same food. He's been to the vet recently and his teeth are fine. He's SO cute and cuddly, but when he sits on his lap and starts cleaning himself, all the cute in the world can't overpower the smell. Help!

My cat, who I have now had for over a year, makes a total mess when she is drinking milk or water from her dish. When she scoops the liquid up with her tongue it goes out of the dish and on to the floor! she must get more on the floor than in her mouth.

It doesnt matter about the height of the dish, it still happens.
Is this normal, do other cats spill this much, i have seen cats not spill a drop! does my kitty have a mouth problem? please help thanks

My 3 yr old indoor cat, who is a big baby, has not been acting right. She hid behind a table for over a day, I had to physically take her out and gave her water with an eye dropper. She was very warm, she could not meow. She would not eat her dry food, so after two days of not eating I gave her canned which she did eat some of. She seems to be getting better and is socializing a little more. Could she possibly have had a sore throat, she would open her mouth to meow , nothing came out and she was smacking her lips. She was not sneezing and her eyes were not running.
Any ideas. Could not get her to the vet, it was New Years weekend. Do you think I should still take her even though she is getting back to her old self?

For the last five days she has been in season for the first time and is 8 months old... She is a pedigree layanese and usally only uses her litter box (no changes there) but in the last 2 days has urinated on my house mates bed and the lounge chair. Also due to her screaming from being in season she has been locked out of my bedroom for past few nights. She is always indoors and will be desexed soon my vet was waiting for her to be in season once.. Also i am 17 weeks pregnant and wondering if she is picking up on this. She needs to get use to not being in my room and in the morning i do let her in and cuddle and pat her for about 10-30 also she gets cuddles when i come down stairs...

My questions are;
whats going on?
Have I done something?
How can i stop her urinating on furtinture?
Does she know i'm pregnant?
How can i prepare for the baby?

Thank you in advance for your answers... I'm confused...

I feed her everyday, scoop her litter box daily, bathe her monthly, and I'm very affectionate toward her, yet she'll choose to be with my husband over me every time! He does nothing for her (as far as her care is concerned). She'll curl up on his lap, or sleep on his chest while he's laying on the couch and purrs so loudly it sounds as if she is snoring. She doesn't seem to want me -- only when it's time to eat, or when I scoop or change her litter box. She won't stay with me more than a couple of minutes, and rarely if ever purrs when she is with me. Could this be because of the baths? Why does she just treat me like her personal servant and nothing else?

I clean the litter boxes daily. The older cat has been sick, which I'd like ideas on her too. She's had a low white cell count, got a blood transfusion and was on the road to better health I thought. She throws up about once daily, is a very very picky eater, always has been.....only weighs 7 lbs. I can't find anything she'll eat no nutrical or science diet mentioned in the e-mails and like the vet gave me. She's such a precious companion I don't want to lose her. The other cat is waaaay overweight. She can't last much longer not eating, we've have forcefed her but then she throws it up. Please help someone.
