I clean the litter boxes daily. The older cat has been sick, which I'd like ideas on her too. She's had a low white cell count, got a blood transfusion and was on the road to better health I thought. She throws up about once daily, is a very very picky eater, always has been.....only weighs 7 lbs. I can't find anything she'll eat no nutrical or science diet mentioned in the e-mails and like the vet gave me. She's such a precious companion I don't want to lose her. The other cat is waaaay overweight. She can't last much longer not eating, we've have forcefed her but then she throws it up. Please help someone.

If you believe in the power of praying then i suggest you pray to God to heal them both. He will. He is the true physician. When we or our animals are hurting or sick he comes to our rescue and heals. It sounds to me like they are your babies and I feel the same way about my 3 cats and since you've been to the vet with them and they aren't getting any better through the vet you should call on God and ask him to heal your babies. Take it from me he will heal them if you ask him.

What is the low white count from? anemia? cancer? diabetes? infection? you need to know what the count is low. Probably the urine output is stronger or different scented and if 1 cat is sick, they sometimes don't want to use the box, the other might not want to because of the strange scent. I would buy new boxes and start with fresh litter in a new box and see what happens. For your picky eater, do you always feed dry food or wet? For wet food, fancy feast is popular, if she doesn't eat that then I would try meat baby food, Gerber is the only one that doesn't have onion powder in it, onion powder is not good for a cat so stick to gerber if it works. I would also try real meats and maybe dry food in a blender to flavor it abit. Ages 9 and 13 are prime candidates for thyroid problems in cats too make sure the vet tests for that.

Sometimes the cats don't like fancy smells. So if the litter box is in the bathroom and you just sprayed Febreeze, it may bother her some. Also if you cleaned the litter box with a chemical or changed the litter brand or type, she may not like that either. Clean with vinegar and water. Make sure the litter box is clean. If she continues, check with her vet.

Try IVD Duck and Pea. This works for my cat since he was diagnosed with IBD (Irritible bowel disease) . I think being sick makes their "output" smell funny and so they don't want it in their litter box. My cat consistantly went outside the box until he was feeling better. At least he did it on the vinyl floor and not the carpet in the livingroom, hallways, bedrooms....

Try plain chicken, baby food plain chicken also works for the picky and sensitive tummies.

Hope they are both on the road to recovery soon.

Sounds like they may be physically incapable of making it to the literbox in time. This sounds almost certainly a health issue, not behavioral and it should be discussed with your vet.
