She always has food, water, clean litter box, lots of toys, and lots of attention. The second no one is paying attention to her she starts up. Is she crazy or just silly?

that's normal, you know if you can meow back. She'll come over to you. My cat used to do that for attention. So I would love her so much and pet her nicely and she would try to get away. That usually worked for a couple of days. My cat was fixed

A cat might vocalize for numerous reasons. Some cats are just "talky" and want to communicate with their people. Other cats are asking for things they need such as petting, food, a clean litter box or to go outside. A cat might also meow if they are in pain or distress. In each case the meow might sound different and the pitch and frequency of the cries combined with her body posture should give you a clue to what she may want.

Treating excessive meowing

Excessive meowing can be most annoying when we are trying to sleep. Some cats have the habit of meowing and/or scratching in front of the bedroom door until we let them in. The first rule of thumb is do not respond directly to the cat’s meowing. The cat is doing this to get your attention. Getting up to see what the cat wants, shushing or yelling at the cat is the worst thing to do because you are reinforcing the undesirable behaviour by giving the cat attention. Your attention is its reward. The easiest solution is to get a pair of earplugs. If you do not respond to the cat’s meowing it will probably stop within a few days.
If that does not work, you can try some of the following tips:
· Keep your cat extra busy during your waking hours and especially in the evening with toys, extra play etc. This will help it sleep when you sleep.
· Squirting – Have a spray bottle ready and when your cat wakes you with its meowing wait behind your closed door. At the very next meow, spray the cat’s paws from under the door. The cat will learn to associate this behaviour with a squirting.
· Alarms and compressed air devices – These are products available in most pet stores that either make a loud noise or shoot compressed air when the cat passes by an area it’s not supposed to.

It is important to know that some cat breeds are just naturally more vocal than others. These breeds include the Balinese, Burmese, Cornish rex, Japanese Bobtail, Korat, Siamese, and Tonkinese.

It is either an attention seeker cat or in heat. Just pay more attention to the way she meow. If it is those "eerie" cat call, then probably she is in heat. However, if it is the normal meow, either you give her more attention or get another cat for company. I used to own two cats. It was lovely when you see the two of them playing together and leave you with some peaceful time for yourself.

Could she be in heat? Or some breeds of cats meow a lot some are rather silent. If she has Siamese or a Oriental breed in her then they are more "talky" so to speak. I had a cat that was part Siamese she meowed so much :) So this is all the opinion I can give with your details :)

Maybe she needs company. Get her a pet cat. Seriously. Although cats have reputations for being solitary animals, they actually enjoy companionship of their own kind.

"She always has food, water, clean litter box, lots of toys, and lots of attention." You're a good kitty mama! >^..^<

As the others have stated she is most likely becoming receptive to a male. However she will not ovulate unless she is stimulated by the male giving her a huge surge of hormnes which trigger her graffian follicles to be released. Your best bet is to keep her inside and spay her as quck as possible. There is a greater risk of blood loss in sugery if you were to spay her while she is in heat but it may be better than a bred cat.

You said it - she meows for attention. My cat will meow and meow sometimes and when I"talk" back to him, he meows more - like he's engaging me in conversation. Many cats will go through periods of intense vocalizations for various reasons - missing something, looking for something, wanting to engage you. Kitty just wants to "talk." If you ignore it, she will eventually stop becuase it is not getting the response she wants (unless she is meowing bec she is hungry or in pain).

Is your cat spayed? If not, females tend to "announce" they're in heat. I have one female cat who isn't spayed and she's as loud as anything whenever she's in season. If your cat is spayed, then she's most likely just a talkative cat who gets attention when she meows.

Maybe she thinks she's pregnant. My dog did the same thing. She acted weird for a couple of days and when we didn't pay attention she would start to whine.

my cats do the same thing...they can have everything in the world given to them but if I don't pay them any attention they go crazy or if I go crawl in bed and close the door one of them "cries" and scratches at the door or anything else he can come up with to get me to let him in the room or at least have access to come lay in there on the bed at my feet. any my other cat just gets mad if I don't pay her any attention so she starts "fussing" at me...or you could just have a very talkative cat
