My 3 yr old indoor cat, who is a big baby, has not been acting right. She hid behind a table for over a day, I had to physically take her out and gave her water with an eye dropper. She was very warm, she could not meow. She would not eat her dry food, so after two days of not eating I gave her canned which she did eat some of. She seems to be getting better and is socializing a little more. Could she possibly have had a sore throat, she would open her mouth to meow , nothing came out and she was smacking her lips. She was not sneezing and her eyes were not running.
Any ideas. Could not get her to the vet, it was New Years weekend. Do you think I should still take her even though she is getting back to her old self?

Sounds like something is going on in her throat. She must keep eating so give her the canned food. We are looking at the weekend now when the vet offices are closed. I would make an appointment for Sat. morning with the vet. If she continues to improve tonight and tomorrow you can always cancel the appt. and you will have a slot if she doesn't get better.

like humans cats get everything going around if not inoculated against it. They get sore throats, laryngitis, colds etc.Take her to the vet so he can rule out something more.
