although my youngest cat has been neutered im convinced he humps his toys and tries to hump my other tom. he makes these weird throaty yowls and rubs himself on his soft toys and lies on my other toms back and nibbles his neck. should he still be doing this when he has been fixed?

my eldest cat gives me endless problems with her behaviour. she hairballs alot, usually because she has a plastic fetish and chews any plastic be it bags, sellotape etc which then turns up in her hairballs. she also likes to pee on my laundry basket and on towels in the bathroom. on top of this she is very aggressive towards other people and often attacks them although she is fine with me. i am at a loss to her erratic behaviour. she uses a litter tray and goes outside but still pees in the bathroom anytime she gets a chance. ive also tried hairball remedies but none seem to work. while i would never dream of parting with her im just wondering if anybody has any suggestions on ways i could prevent her doing these things aside from the more obvious like shutting the doors etc (which she opens by the way).

Can anyone give me a more specific answer as to why my cat strategically waits until I start walking to zip across my path? It's not only when he needs food or water. I mean, is he trying to kill me off?

The colour is chocolate brown. She doesn't do it on purpose so please don't suggest scratching posts etc as she uses hers when she wants to scratch, the damage to my furniture is purely accidental. I can't afford to have covers made and I already use throws, though I can't cover the whole of my corner sofa with throws as they don't stay on the back and sides. My dining chairs have a very thin covering of leather so the scratches on those show the yellow foam underneath. Any suggestions / tried and tested methods please? Thanks!

I just saw a commercial on the Food Network for Armstrong cheese. At first I thought this was going to be a good commercial showing a lady with her cat until this rotten woman shoves the cat off of the table for going near her cheese. I am disappointed with the Armstrong Cheese company for allowing this sort of treatment of an animal.

I have moved house, I need to install a cat flap for my 3 cats but realised that the back door is double glazed glass. Does anyone have experience of this, could a glazier fit it? Or do I need to buy a new door? If so I'm guessing it would have to be wooden?!

He is just a kitten and every time he goes to the bathroom, he steps in it. It also gets stuck to his butt. I have washed him, and I have trimmed the fur around his butt and feet, but he just keeps stepping in it and getting it matted in his fur. It is taking about 30 minutes a day to clean him. Any advice to get him to stop or to prevent this would be great.

Whenever I am petting my 3month kitten and I stop for something she licks my hand and fingers non-stop!
She also does it when I'm sleeping. Is this her way of kissing me or just annoying the hell out of me!?

I live in Singapore almost directly on the Equator. Would Ragdolls and Maine Coons living in the constant 'summer' temperatures here develop shorter coats permanently or would a breed like a Maine Coon just suffer in this heat and not be suitable here?

There are crazy people here who insist on owning Siberian Huskies and Samoyeds and the poor things are simply not meant to be here. I wonder if the same would apply to cats.

Thank you

Before you got your second one and adopted another kitten to your small family: you and your first cat, did you ever think or doubt that you can love another cat as much as your first? Did you fear that you will differentiate between the 2? That you won't give as much love and affection, warmth and time and care to the second one when he comes along? I want my first cat to have a buddy, but I'm scared that also will mean her needing me less and having less time for me! They say that a cat who has a companion lives longer, just as a human with a companion lives longer. I want what's best for my baby, but after 3 years of me and her alone, I can't see how we can fit a new pet with us.

My 5.5 month old tomcat is driving me crazy, he runs up curtains, work tops, attacks slippers, bags, cloths and anything else in his path. As he is just slightly over 5 months now I am beginning to wonder if he is in need of getting neutered now to calm him down a little bit?? He will spend a lot of time sleeping in the day (normal, I know) and then runs around the house like crazy when we are trying to get some sleep at night. The other issue with him is that he only seems to poop once or twice a day, yet when I first had him he had diarrhoea for the first week (I wormed him since) and pooped loads. I am glad he doesn't have diarrhoea anymore but surely he should do more poop then that?? He gets about 3 pouches of food a day and he has a supply of kitten biscuits at all times. Any help is appreciated as I never had a cat this young I am a bit at a loss.
