My b/f and I found a kitten on Friday near to our apartment block in an old garage, it was obviously malnourished, very skinny, filthy dirty, shaking etc and after watching it for almost an hour (no mother cat around) we decided that we could not leave it outside alone and took it into the house to keep it warm and try to feed it a little. As we already have two of our own cats we kept it in our spare room over night away from our two, not really knowing what to do with it as the local vets was already closed by then, and they do not have weekend appointments. Sadly the kitten did not live, we found it dead this morning before work. I was planning to take it to the local shelter after work tonight if it had still been alive, but I am not really sure what to do with the body now? I can't just throw it away, it seems so indignified to do that to a poor little baby. Do I take it to the vet or does anyone have any suggestions? We do not have a garden so burying it is not an option.

I just adopted a 2 year old white cat. Its a girl and she has a milky-gray streak on the top of her head. She also has one blue eye and one yellow eye. She is very shy and dosile. I want something that is playful and unique/interesting. Any ideas?

I know its not unusual that cats massage with their two front paws before they lay down, but my kitten starts sucking on the actual blanket. I pull him away and try to keep him in my lap, but he keeps going back to the blanket to suck some more. Its not an annoyance more than it is a worry =(

Was my kitten taken away too early from his mother?
If so, what can i do to help?
I want my kitty to be happy and healthy!

Recently my 1st cat named Shirley(which i no longer take care of) was recently diagnosed with gum disease and breast cancer. I now take care of a young cat named Monster who still has good teeth, but i need to take some action in order to prevent what Shirley faces and so his teeth won't be falling from left to right.

My middle child of 5 (common stripy house-cat) is a chronic vomiter. She's been to the Vet at least twice a year for it - to no avail. The vet gives her a bunch of injections & sends her home. As soon as the jabs wear off - she's spraypainting the place again. She IS on a special diet (Hill's Sensitive Stomach formula) - also to no avail. I don't know what to do with this cat anymore. I steadfastly believe that animals are for life, so I can't bring myself to put her down - I'd rather try and find a solution. Any suggestions?

will they spray because they are nervous or around kids that are running around all day. He's an indoor cat and my mom will not let it outside. he has been trying to get outside, sits in the window and looks outside and has gotten out a couple of times. The longest he was out was 45 min may be. Today he got out and when we got him back in he was moaning at the door and trying to scratch at the door to open it.

My cat is normally very friendly and sweet. But sometimes when my new dog is bothering her she growls and snorts at him. I didn't even know cats could growl! She sounds like a dog. Is this normal or very strage?

i have had my cat for 4 yrs since he was newly born. kept him and raised him myself at home. declawed his front paws and neutered him. he has never gone outside cuz i live in the 4th floor. so i was having some problems at home with my mom and had to take him to my aunts house for 3 weeks. they live in a regular house and i suppose they let him outside but kept a close eye on him and i saw 3 cats roaming around that area each time i came for a visit between those 3 weeks. i was there one day and saw the 3 cats come and i took my cat outside to see them, but i held my cat the whole time. he is now VERY VISCIOUS!....very mean cn anyone help me tame him like i had him b4? he was SUPER friendly and calm b4

this is getting to the point where I just want to squash the darn bird. And don't say give it away! that is NOT a solution. However, it does need to stop doing what it is doing! Everytime I allow the cockatiel to come out of it's cage it attacks my cat and dogs! My cat tries to get away. she is really scared. When my cockatiel pecked her today, you could tell that she was hurt. I'm truly concerned for my cats well being. The dogs are no help because they are scared of the bird too. I'm so afraid that it is going to peck my cats eye out when I'm not around. The cage doesn't have a door. So, it comes out sometimes when I'm not home. I'm afraid that I'll come home to a dead cat that was attacked by this heartless feathered freak of a bird! what can I do?

I am looking for a healthy kitten food for my kittens. I feed them Purina kitten chow right now because it is cheap. But I want them to benefit from it and be healthy cats when they grow up. Does anyone know of a cheap, healthy kitten food? I have heard that Innova is the healthiest type of pet food out there but you can only get it off of the internet and it is VERY costly. Any suggestions?

Our cat knocks things over, gets up on tables and bookshelves where he shouldn't go, and spills the water out of his water bowl. We've tried spanking him (and not hard at all more like a little spat since I am by no means an animal abuser) as well as telling him "NO" in a harsh tone, and it works temporarily, but he goes on to get in the same trouble after awhile.

If you can help, just lemme know.

A stray cat adopted our family a year ago. He has always come and go as he pleases and never been cuddly. He just started coming to eat from our other cats bowl he would never let anyone hold him and even petting him caused him to walk away. He is an older cat and has some gray hair.

All the sudden a couple of weeks ago his behavior started changing all at once. Suddenly he was spending more time inside, sleeping on the end of our bed and cuddling up to us and even jumping up in the kids laps. At first I attributed this to the death of our other cat. But then His Right eye seemed to be closed a lot and for the last 2 days I have noticed he is drooling but otherwise healthy. I am very worried because the death of our other cat was very hard on my children. I am wondering if the cat had a stroke and maybe some memory loss. I want to take him to the vet but he still will scratch if you try to pick him up so a car trip to the vet for a basicly wild cat is just not possible

My kitty is 12 years old and her health is deteriorating little by little. I imagine that she will live for another couple of years, but I want to know if there is anything that I can do to make her happier and healthier aside from lots of TLC. Also, she has lost some weight and is a little skinny. What can I feed her to make her gain some weight? I have tried kitten food but it didn't work. Please if anyone has any suggestions... I love my kitty so so so much and just want her to feel good and be happy!

I have two cats one 6 months the other one year. They are like family to me and I only want the best for them. I've been feeding them wellness dry and canned cat food...which has great ingredients and is very good for them, but also kinda expensive. I'm perfectly willing to pay for the quality and they love the dry food but they seem to be getting sick of the wet food. Here I am paying 20 dollars a case for the stuff and yet they don't eat it it just sits in there dish and grows old. I dont want to feed them crap food like friskies, but I want them to like it. Any suggestions?????? Please help!

My cat was FINALLY cleared of her ringworm, the culture came back negative for ringworm. Even when she had it, she had no new scabs for almost 2 months!

Now, 3 weeks after the "all clear" i found a scab on her back with similar characteristics to the old ones. Basically, a scab that when i pull the hair over it, it POPS off and the hair is attatched to the scab!

She was introduced to 5 other cats and they play rough with eachother and it could be a scab...but does the hair pull off of the scab like that with a "fighting" scab?

I hope she doesnt have it AGAIN!!

My cat died recently. I have heard that cats do best in pairs. They form lifetime friendships. The two cats had only been together for about 5 months. I want my other cat to have a good buddy. He is only 14 months old. How long should I wait to bring in a new cat? I don't want to make him mad or sad cause he misses his old buddy.

My kittens are only about 5 months old, and lately the male (Lighting) has started licking the female's (Thunder) butt and what looks like mounting her. She doesn't let him and like meows real loud if he tries, but I was wondering, aren’t they too young for this? A Kitten can't get pregnant at 5 months old can she?? He can't get her pregnant can he? I can't even get them fixed tell next month, cause they say there not quit old enough yet. What do I do?
