Normal cat behavior. They'll chase anything small that they see moving. If you want to really see her chase, try a penlight and aim the light on the floor. They love to chase the bright spot.

hehe no problem except that the cat can't catch the cursor and also it makes it hard for you to use the pc with the cat in the way. Some of my cats do the same thing when I'm using my laptop! If my cats get too pesty at it, I will either throw one of their toys to chase or threaten them with my can of canned air, and if a threat doesn't work, blast the cat with a small squirt of canned air, its a great discipline tool and doesn't get anything wet like using a squirt bottle would!
Some cats are intrigued by things moving on a screen and other cats will ignore that thing, out of 8 running loose in the house at the time, I have three who will chase the cursor and the rest ignore it completely. Of the three, two are young and one is an oldtimer.

I once read an article about 101 things you CAN'T do when you own a cat....it was hilarious and true. Here's some of the list:
1. make a bed
2. read a book,newspaper or magazine
3. take a bath or shower alone
4. keep a door closed
5. put on socks, pantyhose or shoes
And the list went on,but I don't remember anything about cats and PC mice - of course, the article was written 20 years ago and not many folks had computers in the home back then! Keep enjoyong your kitty and the things she does with you!

My cat used to bat at objects on the TV screen as a kitten. While it made viewing my favorite programs a little difficult, I found him to be too cute to chase him off! All cats have one or two goofy things about them, my parent's cat likes to chew on wet hair!
It is not a problem, just a cute kitty playing and having fun!

I thought they like the "MOUSE"??? j/k...
Actually my daughter bought one of those red laser beam lights which their indoor kitty gets great exercise from chasing. The kitty is amused for great lengths of time, running back & forth, even up & down the door, & in circles. Just make sure to point it away from the cat & not into its eyes.

I have a cat that sits on my desk...but she usually doesn't bother my cursor...BUT...my Chihuahua sits up here too...at the SAME time sometimes...and he DOES chase it! Drives me nuts...although he's a lot smaller than the cat..the cat weighs 25 lbs...he weighs 4...but he also nudges my hand because he thinks I need to be petting him constantly! lol They are both very spoiled! I think it's really cute when they do it though. :)

This is normal. Cats like to chase small objects. Buy a laser pointer, they work wonders.
