My kittens are only about 5 months old, and lately the male (Lighting) has started licking the female's (Thunder) butt and what looks like mounting her. She doesn't let him and like meows real loud if he tries, but I was wondering, aren’t they too young for this? A Kitten can't get pregnant at 5 months old can she?? He can't get her pregnant can he? I can't even get them fixed tell next month, cause they say there not quit old enough yet. What do I do?

They are definitely old enough and you need to insist that your vet does it NOW. If the vet won't call 1-800-SpayUSA to find a low-cost clinic in your area.
They are NOT too young to be fixed!

at first I was gonna say sex drive has nothing to do with wether or not the female is old enough to get pregnant and then I realized your true concern and I guess since this is not possible yet theres nothing you can do if the female doesnt go thru heat then she cant get pregnant right so theres no reason to do anything anyway I guess just look the other way I dont know sorry Kim

Its basically experimentation. They are nearing the age of sexual maturity (6 months at the earliest).
Its best to know when the female may reach "heat", otherwise you'll have kittens on the way.

Call your vet and let them know whats going on. They should at least let you neuter the male, at this point. Pregnancy is possible if they're doing things like that! It doesn't matter if they are related, just that they are male and female!

Thunder meows because his penis hurts her. Cat male organs have backwards spines (literally).
I don't believe that he can impregnate her unless she is in heat (is she rolling around, purring, howling?).
Are you sure of their birthdate--because they sound older than you suspect.
Call the vet and tell him/her what's going on and they may decide to fix the male now (I don't see how it could hurt him to be fixed now).
Best.

Better separate them QUICK, or you are going to have more kittens than you ever wanted. Cats mature quickly, and you may already be too late.

It's pretty common for cats of all ages to lick each other (they are fanatically clean creatures ...), but I'm not too sure what to make of this other, errrrrr, "activity". I'd separate them until fixing time, just to play it safe.

Well, it looks like it doesn't matter to him how young he is! I think you can have them neutered/spayed at 6 months. I don't know if he could impregnate her though. You might have to keep them apart somehow.
