My six year old cat was attacking my grandson after he began to walk. I tried giving the ct every special privilge so she wouldn't be jealous. But I ended up taking her in. I feel terrible.

While I am a pet lover, I am also a loving grandma. You've got to protect your grandchild, as your grandchild is not able to do so.

If the circumstances were different & time had permitted, I'm sure you would've tried to find a home in an alternative way. When forced to protect your grandchild so suddenly, I believe you made the best decision you could on the timeframe you had to work with.

As far as your karma? I believe it would have been bad for your karma if you wouldn't have protected your grandbaby, or if you were doing something with mal intent to the cat. But you were protecting your grandson, and placing the cat up for adoption.

Kudos to protective & loving Grandma!

I think that you asked this question because you want people to tell you that you did the right thing. I don't think you did. I would be less concerned about my karma and more concerned about the cat. You could have kept him separated from the child; you could have put an ad in the paper and found him a good home. Instead you took him to a frightening noisy place where he will probably be euthanized. Shame on you.

Don't feel bad, in the end children come before animals, as much of an animal lover as I am I would never ever put a cat before a child. The shelter is the best place for the cat, they look after them and will make every effort to re-home. Of course there will be an element of guilt, but please don't let it overwhelm you, children come before animals in every case, you did the right thing.

Unfortunatly depending on what kind of shelter, the normal holding time is only up to 14 days before the animal is put to sleep, I do not know about your karma, but I could never bring myself to do that. We have shelter kitties who were abandoned and they are the best cats ever (we have 3) one was going to be put down within 24 hours, we got there just in time.

Too bad there was not someone who you knew who could have helpped you with that cat, they are easy to train and to correct behavior issues.

I am sorry

So unhappy it extremely makes me mad to work out that cat living in those circumstances with grimy water and a foul position and on accurate of that she is pregnant for the fifth time! what style of b*tch let their puppy get pregnant that many cases permitting her to carry a good number of undesirable kittens that more effective than probably are all useless by way of now. i ask your self WTF is going by way of the pinnacle of someone like this human being, why won't be able to they basically spay/neuter their pets! human beings like this disgust me they ought to have some severe psychological topics because this isn't commonplace. i'm satisfied someone style like you is taking the cat remote from this terrible puppy abuser because it truly is abuse permitting a puppy to flow by way of all this without giving a flying sh*t about the the cat's nicely-being. I wager even as she said the cat lost a watch she did not raise a finger to help.

you shouldn't you always must put human safetly above your pet. it's a difficult decision, but he is your grandson. my mother in law's dog just bit my neice's face this christmas and they refuse to do anything about it. it was an aggressive bite. and now they can only see my daughter and the grandaughter that the dog bit if they come to the child's house. it's hard but i give you a thumbs up for protecting your grandson. he's too young and a cat can do some damage. i'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your cat. but many shelters do a fine job finding a home for a cat where there are no small children. again hats off to you. i'm sorry it's so difficult. but if you need to reasure yourself, look at your beautiful grandson. unmarked and not scared of your house. you truely love him and he'll know it. wish my inlaws had the intelligence that you do. and the compassion to do what's right.

Well you might try a animal rescue rather than the shelter. Look on line and maybe theyhave some trick you can use to alter your cat's behavior. The link below might provide help.

Yes this is bad karma. No I would never bring any of my animals to a shelter since there are few that do not put them to sleep if they are not adopted.

If there were a reason to have to relocate my animals I would find the homes myself or place them in strictly non-kill rescue that uses foster homes.

Sorry for being so brutal.

Don't feel terrible. Hopefully they'll find her a nice home where she fits in better. That is the hard part of having pets, and also kids. Don't feel bad. Both you, the baby, and the cat will end up happier. Hope this made you feel better. If not, I'm sorry

i had to take our cat into a no-kill shelter when my grandma went on blood-thinners (medication for heart). i felt horrible, even though the cat was a pain in the butt. the cat kept scratching her, not anyone else. it was either grandma getting hurt, or giving the cat up. don't feel bad, i'm sure they found her a nice home.
