Hi there...when a neutered male cat humps things or mounts other cats he is establishing his dominance as the top/alpha cat.

When cats are neutered they know that they cant just get a female cat anymore whenever they see one, it is just a natural thing for them to do when you have had them done it is normally to prove ther the alpha cat in most situations, unless he is sexually frustrated and feels the need to hump thing nothing to worry about but if it does get too much then just seperate them for a while good luck!!!

Animals don't just hump to mate. Some will also hump to show who's boss. I work at an animal shelter & we once got in 7 male rabbits. They started humping to figure out who was going to be the boss of the pack.

My neutered male does that too (humps) - he mounts and soft bites the 1 yr old neutered male. Its a dominance thing. Alpha cats will do it to other pets to establish their pre-eminence. Its totally natural.

This is not an uncommon occurance with neutered animals both dogs and cats. Depending how long ago you neutered your cat, if it was recently it takes upto 6 months for neutering to take full effects, and if it was awhile ago it could be he is using dominate behavior towards your other cat.

Many neutered cats can still have sex! Plus, usually they hump as an instinctive move, or as a sign of dominance, it is not necessarily sexual. Or he could have an extra hidden testicle, but this is extremely rare.

Unusual but not unheard of. Neutering after puberty has hit will make these behaviors more likely. My cat was neutered when nine months old - he occasionally mounts my younger male cat (also neutered, but at five months old). They are now 12 and 11, respectively, but it continues.

Our psycho cat does this too, started doing it when he was only 5 months old. I thought getting him fixed would stop it, but it didn't. He may have the sexual urges mixed up with his nursing urges, maybe he was separated from his mother too early. I have no idea how to stop it, ours is 15 and he still does it, but usually to my son's leg while the kid is sleeping.
