Can anyone give me a more specific answer as to why my cat strategically waits until I start walking to zip across my path? It's not only when he needs food or water. I mean, is he trying to kill me off?

it is probably a game he wants to play. Sometimes cats will do that to each other and if a cat is feeling lonley than he may do that to you. He may want you to play with him.

I highly doubt you cat would be trying to kill you by zipping by your feet. It's more dangerous for them, then it is for you. Sure, you may take a fall, but you can step on your cat, or fall on your cat when this happens.
Cats do that a lot, it does not mean it's trying to kill you. Be serious.

It's probably a game... Mine hides until I pass by amd then pounces at my feet. He doesn't hurt me, but he likes to catch me under surprise.
