It depends on a lot of factors. Like location for example. In the US and other developed countries, they make quite a substantial amount. However, the stress levels are just as high as their salaries. In 3rd world countries, vets aren't completely recognised or respected as professionals, and they make less comparitively.

It also depends on which field a vet enters. The small animal (domestic pets), livestock, equine, pharmaceuticals, etc. Each field has different levels of salaries, again depending on which is more important in that particular location.

Depends on where the practice is... in a city like Los Angeles, a vet can make a lot of money. Obviously, in places where people are obsessed with taking top quality care of their pets, vets will do very well indeed.

Depends on where they are practicing, how long they have been practicing, what type(s) animals they see, if they own the practice or not, how big a practice is..etc..there is no concrete answer to this question.
