My male cat also did this. Only did it to certain stuff animals, the soft ones, large and cuddly never on my female cat, she has been spayed. What I did to cure him is simply remove the stuff he likes too hump. He no longer does this, its been quite a few years now. He is the only cat I've had that did this. I don't know what brought it on. Try it on your cat. My cat never seemed to miss these stuffed animals. I didn't really think of it as gross, in fact I laughed at first, but yes I do not think it was right. I never made a big deal out of it, just removed the items he did that to. Hope it works, I would be interested in knowing the outcome!

We've had this with both spayed females, and neutered males (both dogs and cats), and vets have advised that it partly instincts (especially if males are not neutered young enough), and partly just the animal attempting to figure out where they fit in the "pecking order".
Both cats and dogs are pack animals, and it's usually the alpha male that gets to mate with all the females..... in order to stop the behaviour (and other undesired habits), you need to show the animals that you and the other humans are higher up the chain than they are. Be firm when you give directions, and set boundaries. Human or fur-kid,..... they all need firm boundaries, so they know how they 'fit' into the pack.

I used to have a male which was also neutered, sadly he was put to sleep last year. He would sometimes start clawing on blankets or jumpers and bite them as males do with females into the back of the neck when they mate. I asked the vet at the time if this was normal and if I could/should do anything about it and they just advised me to leave him to it as it made him happy. So I doubt there is much you can do to stop him.

My neutered male did this too, never did figure out why, but it wasn't too often or ridiculous, so I never looked into it.
My guess was that maybe he still had a lot of hormones in him, maybe too much testosterone or something.
Hope you get an answer from someone who really knows, as I have wondered this myself.

That behavior is not sexual - it is a prey response and doesn't need to be corrected. Some of my cats do that when they are "playing" with their toys.

Sometimes you have to let nature take its course, just leave the room and allow him his special time.
Also, you should maybe film it and put it on you tube , that would be hilarious. Title it "Kitty Dry Hump" or something like that. MIiiaaaoooowwwwwwwww!
