What would recommend? Try to clean it with an at home treatment, or take him to the vet? Anyone know of a good vet that has affordable prices around Lakewood CA, b/c the last vet we took him to gave us an estimate of 1200 just to clean out the already ruptured abcess.

Any info would be appreciated thanks.

please no silly stuff...this is sensitive to me

There's been a stray cat that's been coming to our house for 2 years now. I think it was homeless so she would always come, sitting outside of our sliding door...we would give her food, play, and we even bought her a little bed. She never belonged to anyone...she just roamed around the neighborhood always looking for food and someone to play with. This cat was our unofficial pet. Now, we just found out someone killed it...and i can't get over it. It's body was lying in the middle of the road....i have another pet, and fell guilty playing with it. I feel like a part of me is lost...i'm sad...because of the way the cat died and that i don't get to see her anymore...how do i deal with this?

Does anyone have a problem with your cat drinking bath water? My cat gets clean bottled water to drink. I make sure their bowl is washed out from time to time. But both my cats drink out of the the bathtub. And I notice they drink out the tub only when I am in the bath! I can run water in the tub and forget about it and let it sit there and they wont drink it. But the moment I get in....does anyone else have this problem and what have you done about it?

Tried all speciality foods, babyfood, cooked fish, turkey and chicken. Vomiting everything, losing weight, several medications, nothing helps. Seems to be getting weaker. Last option to send to university and look with a scope into stomach, costly and hard on older cat? Any ideas?

At around 11AM today, my 2-year-old inside/outside male cat threw up in two large areas in our house. He usually does this when we leave him outside for the night. We just figure he ate something out there that he shouldn't have. A nasty bird or mouse.

Well, once he threw up, I put him outside. He found a little bed we have put up for our 3 cats on a shelf, and he has just been laying there for 12 hours.

He's never been this sick before, and I'm kind of worried about him. You know how, when a cat is scared, it's fur will stand up? Well, my cat's fur is fluffy and standing up (just around his head).

What do you think he has? Do you think he just has a 24-hour stomach flu, thing? Any suggestions to what this might be would be greatly appreciated!

We recently had to take our 2 years old male cat to the vet for major surgery as the idiot had somehow ingested 3 metres of cotton and it had to be removed. Everything was fine with surgery and he is now recuperating at home however our 12 month female who previously adored him has avoided him since we brought him home and hisses and runs away whenever she sees him. We thought it was the vet smell but the antiseptic smell has worn off rapidly. I would understand it being a territorial issue but she's a girl and he was only in the vets for 24 hours!!

Ok, I got a 6 week old kitten from a friend of mine around a week ago - for free. However, the agreement was that I would get my kitten (Rain) and another kitten (in a few weeks) for free IF I bred both my kittens with either her Ragdoll, Tonkinese, Siamese, Burmese or Blue Russian cats when my cats are old enough to be bred.
Although I will not have to breed her for another year or so, I need to know about what can go WRONG and HOW to deliver the kittens when they are born.
I know there can be complications and they can cost hundreds... thousands of dollars - I will not have that kind of money if something goes wrong and will have to put my babies to sleep.

Did I make the right decision to get these girls for free or just pay the $200 each and spay them both? Knowing that she will never have to go through complications with birth.
All help is needed.
Please do not say that I am being a backyard breeder -I know that there are many cats in the shelters.
My kitten is a Tonkinese.

I have a 7 1/2 month old kitten, when I first got her she used the litter box just fine, but for the last week and half she's been urinating on things she's not suppose to! It was thought that a first maybe the litter boxes weren't clean enough, so I started cleaning them everyday but that didn’t effect her. She has been spayed for about a month and half now, so I really don't think it has anything to do with that. I have 2 other cats besides her (one is her sister, while the other is a 11 years old) and 4 litter boxes (1 is a automatic cleaning one), so could it be that I need to get another litter box? And is there just anyway I could just re-train her to use it, because getting rid of her is not an option.

I have two male cats that I have had since they were born. They are brothers. Well they fight all the time. I decided to get them fixed to see if that would help but nothing has changed. I was always told that they would calm down when they got fixed. Not these two.. Can someone tell me what I can do.

My cat has to stay by itself most of the time because my husband and I are away almost all day. It'll stay out of it while we're around, but while we're out, it can't help itself. It's usually not bad about keeping out of things, but I don't know what to do. Reprimanding it doesn't help-I think it likes the attention. I'm willing to do pretty much anything!! Please help!

Its cruel and unfair to a cat, they have instincts to scratch, don't they?

I would never do it but I would never let the claws get to long!

My cat's eye got all cloudy looking today. The black pupil part looks a foggy. Sometimes he wont open it all the way. He is a lot less active. This happened once before and it went away. Does anyone know what this is?
Is there anything I can do besides bringing him to the vet?
