I have a female cat, about seven months old. She has not been gaining any weight, very thin (bones showing.) She only weighs about a pound and a half, if that. She was the runt and has always had a runny eye, but recently we noticed that she is only about half the size of her brother from the same litter, and never wants to play anymore. Her coat feels oily. She also seems to not want the litter box, although we have done everything we can to get her to use it. (We even have three litter boxes in case all the cats have to go at the same time...all in non-stinky areas.) I am taking her to the vet, but I can't get the money up for another week. Does anyone know what could be wrong and what I could do to ease her suffering?

I have four cats and we went around with this thing last year. The vet said at first it was mites but none of my other cats had it.The liquid he gave me did nothing. Then he said it was a yeast infection. He gave me antibiotic ear drops.I always thought antibiotics cause yeast infections? Anyway, that didn't work either.
Now that same cat only has some goo in his ear. I cleaned it out with a Q tip dipped in peroxide. Some black dots and some yellow murkey stuff came out.
Anyone have any suggestions ?

The ones that are typically bothersome...my cat is sneezing can I give it some of my medicine? My cat has diarrhea what do I do? They rarely qualify that a vet is an option--lack of money and obviously they are looking for a freebie fix here rather than trusting an educated licensed animal doctor. Am I not alone?

I know there's no chance of him coming back. I've checked everywhere and it's been 3 months.

I know that Feline Pine can be used for compost, but what about the cat food? Are there any other uses?

Or should I just throw it out?

In 3-5 weeks I have to give my foster kitten and her mother back to the rescue agency. Can you give me some advice on how to be strong? Is it okay to cry? I will miss them terriebly. I would keep them but I already have 3 cats and 1 dog and 3 birds and can not keep any more animals.

Thanks

I have an 8 year old female cat. She is spayed and declawed. She has been peeing on the carpet in my houses for 7 years. She has been taken to the vet on several occassions and no urinary tract infections. I have moved into a new home with laminate wood floors, and she continues to pee on the wood. I now have her secluded in the garage because she can't control herself. She has started peeing in the garage, too. Her litter box is clean. I just don't know what to do anymore. She is declawed so I am having a hard time putting her outside without any means of protection. I am at my wits end and just cannot seem to deal with this anymore. Please, if someone has an idea. I am willing to send her to a shelter if need be. I just have no clue! Thanks.

Earlier today I noticed she was getting a bit of a paunch.

"Sophie," I said, "you're getting a wee bit pudgy around the middle."

I don't know if it's my fault for buying the really good kinds of cat food, or my fiancé's, for feeding her too many cat treats.

Anyway, now she's curled up in the tiniest ball I've ever seen her curled up in. I've obviously made her all self-conscious, and I feel awful about it.

"Look," I said, "I've got a little extra around the middle too. It's no big deal." Nope; still trying to wedge part of herself between the sofa cushion, hanging her head down.

I tried to tell her she was fine -- not fat at all, really, and we already have some "for less active indoor cats" food here to set out, but maybe I could've just shut my mouth and set it out.

How can I reassure her? I feel awful.

My 1 year old kitten lately has been obsessed with eating starchy human foods like bread (preferably toast), crackers, and pretzels. At night, she goes and somehow opens the cabinets where those foods are. She'll tear through the plastic and the next morning we'll find the package empty with crumbs all over.

She's been the biggest pig lately, we feed her twice a day according to the cat food label, but she always begs for food when my family is eating. But she's not fat or anything, in fact she and her mom are pretty little cats because they were strays.

Is there some type of "terrible two's" stage she might be going through? Do they continue to grow when they're 1?

I have a male kitten. He's about 4 months old. He won't keep himself clean. I've had other cats and they keep themselves spotless. This cat wont even bother to clean up his danger zone after hes done with the litter box. His ears are also really disgusting. I give him baths occasionally but cannot continue. Please help!!! What can i do about this problem.
