Ragdolls are large, beautiful, blue-eyed cats, with long silky fur that has a tendency to resist matting.

They come in three different patterns - colourpoint, mitted and (I think unique to the Ragdoll breed) bi-colour.

Males grow bigger than the females - the normal weight range is up to 20lbs but some males can grow bigger. See this photo:

There are myths surrounding them - it was said at one stage that when held they would flop in your arms like ragdolls - hence the name. And that they would tolerate pain better than other cats ... though how they went about testing that?

They are laid back cats, gentle & relaxed, who love people.

It is recommended that you keep them inside.

Bet your boy will be beautiful.

I used to have a med. hair rag-doll. He would only respond to the name "Baby". I got him out of the shelter and he was the most gorgeous cat I ever owned. They are beautiful. Mine loved to nuzzle in my long hair and talk to me when spoken to, and fetch when playing. Take real good care of your prize kitty! ;0)
