I have a male kitten. He's about 4 months old. He won't keep himself clean. I've had other cats and they keep themselves spotless. This cat wont even bother to clean up his danger zone after hes done with the litter box. His ears are also really disgusting. I give him baths occasionally but cannot continue. Please help!!! What can i do about this problem.

Sounds like something is wrong with your kitty. Take him to the vet and get him checked out.

A cat always cleans her/himself.
The first thing cats do when they are sick, is they stop cleaning.
A kitty is a very clean and sophisticated animal, dirt and untidyness are terrible for him.
He is therefore either disabled or he has some disease that needs treatment. Could be an allergy, worms, parasites in him, whatever. Only thorough testing (blood, urine, etc.) can tell you what is wrong with him.
Bring him asap to the vet/clinic, as a childhood trauma might leave your kitty sad or mad forever.

We had a cat like that! He was the first cat I ever knew that didn't seem to care about grooming himself. We used those cleaning cloths on him, like animal Wet-Naps, that are available at pet supply stores. After some years he got better at cleaning himself. The ears may not be dirt, but ear mites. Definitely check that out with a vet. Those can lead to further trouble if not treated.

There are wipes you can buy for your cat to keep you from having to constantly bathe it. However, you should definitely take him to the vet to get him checked out; I think cats are supposed to naturally do this, and if he doesn't, something might be wrong. Good luck!

it's odd that he doesn't clean himself... that is what most cats do. But if he were my cat i would do two things 1- continue bathing him and 2- talk to my vet.

I hope some one else can help you more
