Haha! I never really thought about that, but they probably would. I think I may have seen a white tiger lean into a nice stroke on Animal Planet once (there was a lady who raised them or something). So, if a tiger does, why wouldn't a lion?

I know they wouldn't purr though, it's a scientific fact: any cat that can roar cannot purr (and vice-versa). It's either one or the other. That's why you never hear cheetahs roar --they're purrers. Cool, huh? Just a little animal trivia for you. :-)

I think that this is one of those questions we'll never know the answer to. I'd love to know. Its kinda hard to imagine a lion with his giant butt in the air, purring. LOL

We need a volunteer from our audience to go try it and come back and tell us about it. :-) Come on -- it's in the interest of science! We'll give you a dollar!

Seriously, probably so. They're cats, and may be assumed to have similar nerve structures and physiology. They're just lots, LOTS bigger.

You can ask a person who has lion as pet. I wouldn't bother petting a lion, it has some giant teeth who knows if they brush them or not..:)

I'm with most others, likely isn't anyone who tried and lived to tell about it...maybe you could write your Masters on this subject.

I think they do. But lions as any other wild animal should remain "wild" and should not be bothered.
