I normally give my cat 1 can of Fancy Feast in the morning and then 1 more after I get home from work. This morning I gave her 2 cans of it and she's thrown up (as far as I know) twice today. I'm not sure if it's just because I gave her too much food or if she's coming down with something.

My cat has just scraped her leg on the table. It's not bleeding, just scraped, but I don't want it to get infected. What should I do? Is neosporin an option or will it be poisonous to her since she could lick it off?

Thanks in advance for your help!

My cat Lynx has had this problem off and on ever since i got him neutered last year. He gets this really nasty cough, you can also hear a rattling noise in his chest. Which causes him to have breathing problems, the only way i can help is to put him on my knee's with his head facing the floor and gently tap his back and sides, i tap his back for a while until he coughs really bad and this really nasty thick white mucus comes out of his lungs. This has happened to him when he's gotten stressed out, but it only last for 2 days tops. But this time he's not stressed out and he's had it for the last 5 days, its not getting any worse but its not getting any better. what i'm wondering is, maybe he could just have a cold this time? He still eating and drinking normally, even though he's sleeping more. If anybody has any ideas on what this is or what i can do i'd really appreciate the infomation.

I have 2 cats...who have always loved being around each other...I came in yesterday from work yesterday and one of them got into a cabinet and managed to get a grocery bag around his back leg...I guess he scared himself to death and scared her to death also...now everytime he goes anywhere near her she growls and hisses at him. Anybody else had something similar happen? If so, how long did it take for them to get back to normal?? THANKS!!!

Has anyone here had any experience in harness training older cats? In the spring, my indepent old mouser is going to have to move with us to the city. Because we don't know yet what our future neighborhood will be like, Im thinking it may be a good idea to harness train him just in case. He's always had free range, but because of injuries, and his age, I don't trust him to be loose in the city. Any advice on how to go about getting an old independent cat like him to accept being harnessed, would be appreciated.

i have been looking after a homeless cat ,which was left by her previous owners when they left UK, for a year or so.i've been feeding her, sometimes she would come to my flat, but most of the time she stays in the corridor near my flat(made her a box for sleeping).the thing is that for the last month or so she looks really bad,her fur is getting thin, she became really skinny(even though she eats a lot) and looks ill. as im not her owner and she is more of a wild cat she keeps her distance,so i cant give her any medicine or take her to wets(as a student I cant afford it:( )can it be that she has warms or is it something more serious??shall I try to take her to animal shelter??do they find a new home for the cats?

I am unsure weather I want to adopt a cat, people keep telling me positives and negative about how cats affect people. Someone told me cats low blood pressure, others say they carry bacteria that people are allergic to. I would love to have a cat in my house but I can't decide weather they will improve my life or they will worsen my life?

Just wondering if my 7 month old DSH kitten is over-weight.

Approx. 7 months, DSH, female, spayed, approx. 2.5 - 3.5 KG (not sure how much in pounds).

Feeding her 'Whiskas' kitten food - 2-3 satchels per day.
Also 'Purina ONE' dry kitten food - 1.5 cups per day (sometimes more).

Went to the vet last month for her vaccination - vet said she was in perfect condition... very healthy.
Is she over-weight or is this a healthy weight range?

In the past year I have taken in two kittens. Within a week of bringing them into my home they both developed diarrhea. The first one i don't have anymore but the one I have now(Salem) I really adore. I've had her for about 5 days now. Along with the diarrhea they have, the easiest way to describe, small amounts of stool that come out when passing gas(very noticably i might add). The odd thing is that she doesn't even realize that it comes out. I know that diarrhea is common in kittens but I have had cats my whole life and I can't say that I have ever noticed a problem like that. 1. Is the "seepage" normal? 2. Is it something in my home? What can I do to help her?

Shouldn't people come back and say "ok i picked Fluffy". ANd when you ask us to help you pick a name for you cat or dog or gerbil folks, it would help if you would give us the gender, color and a bit about the personality of the critter.

I just got a new kitten to be a companion for my other baby. He is wonderful except that he has a problem nipping. I think it's because he was the runt of his litter and it's the only way he could assert himself. Is there any way I could get him to stop other than spraying him (like my reading has told me to do). I don't want him to fear or associate me with the spray bottle and how unplesant it is. Presently I just tell him "No bite." and tap him with my finger on his forehead very gently.
He seems to be getting it... but he just doesn't listen most of the time.

I rescued my cat when he was roughly 2 years old. He was diagnosed with FIV when I first took him to the vet's. He is now 5 years old and appears to be in great health. How long should I expect him to live and are there any procautions that I can take to ensure that he lives a long, healthy life? Also, I rescued a kitten one year ago - is she at risk or does she already carry the virus as well? (The male cat is neutered, the female is not)

Being around cats all the time its just something I've tended to notice.
I've always been drawn to orange cats because there is just something special about them.

I have a huge black male, and a huge tuxedo male cat, that get along just fine together. Each time I introduce them to other color cats...they never get along. I tried a siamese, a calaco, an all white cat, and a tabby. The boys just don't like other cats? Is it because they are not the same type? The other cats were different genders by the way.

I dont know yet if she has it, but I think she does. I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow and if she has it can I be tested for it too? I heard it can be passed on to humans and she basically sleeps on my face every night.
