This is normal and it will go away in time. It is basically displaced aggression. Your cat doesn't know who to blame for the incident that scared him, so it's easier to take it out on the other cat. It will get better with time. They'll probably be best buds again tomorrow.

Probably it will settle down by tomorrow. We had an incident with the lampshade collars, when the kittens (brother and sister) were fixed. The male loved his collar, and groomed it like his own fur, trotting around proudly like a little lion with a mane. When we put one on the female a few days later, he started to get aggressive towards her, and pretty soon they both had squirrely tails, started to hiss and fight. As soon as we took off her collar, it all stopped. The tension left within a few hours too. For some reason, he found her threatening with her collar on. Probably tomorrow all will be fine. You might try separating them for the night, and when you get up tomorrow morning, it could all go back to normal.

I would say in about a week. Try sitting in the floor and holding them on separate sides of you. Make sure they can see each other, don't force anything, just let them look. Do this a few minutes at a time each day maybe twice daily. This should get them reacquainted with each other in a calm manner.

It's completely normal for cats. It only ends if trap them together in cat cage or something. Staying together makes cats more use to each other. They must have just been playing and went overboard. It's a common thing. No worries.

They are probably scared and a little in shock and the 1 might be hurt a little bit. Give it a few days and things will probably get back to normal.

In 2 to 3 days they will forget what happened to each other and everything will get back to normal for you (not unless one of them knows how to hold a grudge).

Give them time, it will go away. The female was terrified of what happened. The memory will fade with time.
